Trepidation for the 26/27 Prem season ?

Bit doom and gloom on here, isn't it?

Sage being written off by some when he hasn't managed a game yet. Suggestions that Parish wants to flog all our players when, realistically, we've probably sold no more than one key player per transfer window over a few years period.

Squad is basically the same as last season at the moment. We've lost Lacroix and Clyne, signed Mingueza and, likely, Tomiyasu. Slightly weaker but not terminal.

There's a month of the window left and we're being linked with people. We still have Henderson, Mitchell, Canvot, Richards, Munoz, Wharton, Sarr and Mateta. Doucoure may finally come back. There are plenty of fringe players / new signings who may step up under a new manager.

15 years in the Premier League and three trophies in the last 18 months. Surely it's time to give Parish a bit of credit that he possibly knows what he's doing.

Things could be much worse, look at Newcastle
Agree. I think our squad is stronger than 12 months ago, the first 11 probably not as strong

Hi all, good luck for the new season. Got my fingers crossed you win the Europa!

Probably not the right place to ask, but wondering what you think of your new home shirt. I quite like it, we had an away like it some 20+ years ago, just wondered what you think? Is there a reason for this shirt? My brain remembers an old palace shirt I’ve seen like that but I may be going mad!

Personally I have no problem with going from red and blue stripes to a sash, but if you're going to do it then do it properly. If you're going to go old school, then do it properly.

I hope he’s sacked by Christmas.
Good football manager , a c*nt of a man.

If your team wins a cup it is another notch on the 'Bedpost' of your honours list.
For example, finishing 10th instead of 15th does not place you name on the 'Honours Board'.
For avoidance of doubt, I am not suggesting this was the motive of our erstwhile manager, just a generalisation which could enter the thoughts of a manager.
In the final analysis, Oliver Glasner provided unparallel success for the club and I wish him well.

Well the team is taking shape now with first team players being integrated back in. PS want us hard to beat from the back. We have good sprinkling of experience that has played in the Spanish and German leagues with some younger players learning their trade.

If Decoure can stay fit he could be key in protecting the defensive unit. Then we have the creativity in the middle, Wharton and Kamada who can feed the fast wingers / wingbacks and forwards. Steve Coppell said “ it’s a patchwork putting a team together to make things work” he was right. So if we can play 16 players all at the same time we should be fine! Joking apart I always think of Cloughie and Taylor when they built that Forest side, who would have thought an aging Kenny Burns and Larry Lloyd would be the backbone of that team with a young McGovern and Robinson, Woodcock and Birtles doing the business over the rest of the park!

I’m not fearing this season at all, in fact I see and smell silver. 🦅

Just did, I knew I recognised it! Hope you all have a great season, would be nice to beat you at least once 😂 but I truly want you guys to do well. Proper club and I’ve never met an idiot Palace fan. When you smashed us after we got into the CL, the 5-0, you were all so damn nice. I’ll never forget that.

You fans were there with your beach balls, CL songs etc., which said it all. Despite Eze, Olise and Mateta purring we realised it was a typical end of season game that wasn't going to mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Every fan of yours pre and post were just awesome. There are some clubs down in London who are impossible to engage with, not you lot. Even though you always beat us you’re always grounded. That’s why - even though the FA Cup semi hurt - I was so happy to see you get the cup, you deserve success.

Moving on and back to the subject of the thread, do I sense a change of wind amongst my fellow Palace doomsters?

Are we beginning to feel that things may be just about ok this season?

Still a way to go before the transfer window closes but if and it's still a big if, if we can hold on to our remaining key players (the likes of Wharton, Sarr, Henderson, Munoz and even Mateta), can we approach what will be the remainder of the season with some modicum of hope that we'll still be a PL club come June 2027?

Since the end of last season we've lost Lacroix and Clyne, kept Kamada, and gained Mingueza and Tomiyasu on so-called "frees" along with possibly a returning Doucoure and possibly an improved França, which IMO makes us marginally stronger than we were back in May.

If we do bring in the lad from Salt Lake and another CB will that be enough?

The level of the water in my glass has increased slightly over the past couple of weeks.
