Trepidation for the 26/27 Prem season ?

A lot may hinge on transfers. Gratifying as it has been to watch Sarr and Munoz have outstanding World Cup campaigns, a downside may appear. Kamada's two goals might make him a more attractive free agent though that mightn't perturb me quite so much; decent enough player but not quite so crucial as the other two.

I get what you are saying, but the 3 coming up are no good.
Sunderland, Brentford , Brighton, Bournemouth all got small squads and Europe next year.
Leeds won’t be great, Fulham lost their manager and best player.

The annoying thing will be Forest getting all the plaudits for decent league form, as they aren’t in Europe.

Think we will finish around where we normally do.

V good point, they will all struggle in the league as a result. Hopefully we'll be better prepared this time around and sack of the domestic cups.

Have to disagree there.

If we had,to use your term, ‘sacked the domestic cups’ under Glasner we would never had probably the greatest moment in our history in winning the FA Cup.
It’s back to the Hodgson mindset of getting knocked out of the cups asap.

Furthermore, from a practical standpoint in my view we have no chance of finishing in European positions in the Premier League.
The usual suspects will be at the top and I suspect Chelsea and Spurs will be stronger.
We are also unlikely to go down looking at the quality of the three promoted clubs.
It’s also unlikely we will win the Europa Cup given the pedigree of the competition.

There’s a good case for saying our best hope of success this season is in the domestic cups.
If it’s a case of saying our squad is not strong enough for the demands of the season then on the assumption that we are strong enough to stay out of league trouble why just ‘sack off ‘ the domestic competitions.
Give them a go.

My cup is not half full.... It's full.

When you think about it, we actually have a great team. Most of our players are sort after by bigger teams, that should tell us something. Munoz, proving to be a world class player, Sarr, the same, Riad, he's been outstanding along with Richards. I don't need to mention Wharton, we all know what we have. We also have the best goalkeeper in the league (IMHO) and I have a funny feeling, maybe just a crazy hope, we may be able to keep Kamada, although it looks as though he will go to Forest, I'm hoping he has more to him than following Glasner like he's on a chain..

Think about it, how did we get all these players. None of them came with any hint they would be as good as they are. Yes, we may lose one but as long as the team spirit is there as it has been ("We are a family" etc) I think we're good.

Every season its the same, we go through the doom and gloom about this time..

I'm not worried about relegation, I'm worried about not getting a top 10 finish, (Yes, I know it's a stretch, Europa Cup, etc) but not progressing beyond what we did last season in the league would be more damaging than losing a player as it would show all players that Palace don't really have much about them without Glasner, despite having quality in the side. We need to start proving people wrong, even ourselves.

I do worry about; losing any game to Brighton and now, Glasner's smirk..

Apart from that, it's all good...

P.s. Yes, very optimistic but we have plenty of time yet to start crying when it all goes tits up.

Maybe we all need to start early.

Tell me, what is the point of Palace.

No one believes in us, not even the fans. If there is one thing I can take away from Glasners's time here is that we lack belief. Its our biggest problem and it starts with us.

We have proved that we can have success. One F.A Cup win brought us the Community Shield and a European trophy, even if it was really expected that we win it.

As supporters and fans we go back to the same old we're doomed thinking and that for me is the real root of "Typical Palace".

None of us appear to be happy finishing 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th. If we don't believe we can do better than the season before then why would anyone else and I for one am tired of being labelled as one of the teams to go down every season, especially as its B/S. We ARE an established Premier League side who have more Premier League seasons under our belt than most others in the league.

If you go into a fight believing that your going to get your a5se kicked, guess what, you get your a5se kicked.

We have some excellent players, we have had a top 10 finish with arguably a worse team than we have had in the past and we now have trophies too and yet no post on how high can we go, just "we're going down".. Every season... No wonder the only reports we see are about how many players another teams can grab from us. Boring B/S.

COYP.. It's about time we meant it.

We didn't have European football in the FA Cup winning season. The following season we did have European football, and we went out of the FA Cup instantly to a non-league startup managed by Rooney's younger brother.

I’m impressed with your optimism and sentiments but there have been too many false dawns in the past. This may be our golden era but a lot of people with an eye on the past are understandably pessimistic. And losing our best players has been a draining experience to our fans.

I can't argue with what your saying, you are entirely right. What I would say is the past is the past. You can only be optimistic or not about the future and if we are not optimistic after we have done so well, we can't expect to progress. That's what we all want but we as fans and supporters Don't help ourselves with the continued pattern of doom and gloom. I include myself in that..
