Tories would ban strikes by NHS doctors - Badenoch

Sounds an attractive idea, but I think that allowing the courts to tell company managements the terms on which they must employ their workforce is philosophically unacceptable and very likely lead to bad performance.
Other western countries ban strikes by key workers and they seem to function fine.

A Tory guessed it -pants down.
Far from a guess.
The estimate of £367 Mill is the cost of Labour's cowardice and patients are left paying the price.
The Labour party bears responsibility for the chaos that is unfolding.

I have nothing more to add on this matter on HOL.Suffice to say I shall be in full-flow discussing this subject, and Reform, with my Conservative chums tonight !

I know they do - and so do we. But I don't see the connection between that and the point I was making, which was that in industries and services where strikes are allowed, giving the courts the power to impose their will on employers and employees would be wrong. In fact, at the risk of overstating the case, I think that it would mark the start of a slippery and sinister slope in the direction of totalitarianism, where the state gradually takes control of our lives.
