Terrible idea trying to protect people from death.Tories will ban strikes by NHS doctors if they are ever let loose with the reins of power,we are already very short of doctors and this infringment on their rights will not help recruitment, keep looking for that bright idea Kemi this aint it.
Two things you can rely on Death and Taxes.Terrible idea trying to protect people from death.
The action of the doctors will hasten both. Two things you can rely on Death and Taxes.
Excellent idea. But stop being sensible! There would be many in Birmingham now who would echo this if you were including refuse collection.I understand why unions used strikes in the past. Workers had little rights and there was very little they could do other than strike.
However in today's modern world workers have plenty of rights and strikes should go the way of the dodo.
Certain key parts of our economy should not allow strikes e.g. NHS, transport emergency services to name but a few.
Instead there should be a legally binding arbitration with powers to bring all parties to court, enforce judgements and imprisonment if necessary.
If the unions have a good case they can make it to the court, their staff don't lose pay and the public don't suffer.
And Rod Stewart likes blondes. 😀Two things you can rely on Death and Taxes.
Only when he looks in the Mirror. And Rod Stewart likes blondes. 😀
My father-in-law had complete organ failure, the doctors put him on the pathway(doc speak for Morhine increasing to hasten death). I went in to hospial the next morning he was bright yellow (like the Simpsons) and they ended his suffering. The action of the doctors will hasten both.

Sounds an attractive idea, but I think that allowing the courts to tell company managements the terms on which they must employ their workforce is philosophically unacceptable and very likely lead to bad performance.I understand why unions used strikes in the past. Exactly, otherwise we will eventually get to a point were a doctor is forced by a soldier holding a gun to do what he is told that's why it is more Tory twaddle. If you work for money then you can refuse to do so.Sounds an attractive idea, but I think that allowing the courts to tell company managements the terms on which they must employ their workforce is philosophically unacceptable and very likely lead to bad performance.
Sure, and employers should be free to sack people who do, employees are of course free to work elsewhere if they want.Exactly, otherwise we will eventually get to a point were a doctod is forced by a soldier holding a gun to do what he is told that's why it is more Tory twaddle. If you work for money then you can refuse to do so.
I have always said that workers are hireable and fireable, I can only agree with that.Subject to no discrimination, victimization etc.Sure, and employers should be free to sack people who do, employees are of course free to work elsewhere if they want.
As far as I'm aware, the BMA can only act if it has a mandate from its membership. In other words, doctors have chosen this. The increasing militant BMA has made it patently clear it will not stop, pushing this system to breaking point. Its latest round of strikes threatens to put patients at risk, increase waiting lists, and cost the public purse millions. Estimates suggest that the strikes are set to cost this country £367 million over 2025 alone.
Under Labour, the NHS doesn’t belong to the people who fund it, or the people who use it, it belongs to the people who threaten it. Labour are handing the NHS over, brick by brick, shift by shift, to the union barons who break it and bill us all for the damage.
I think doctors going without pay must cost less not more, where did you get that B.S.
