I suspect the 'baddies' like to attack them because Israel, which is an ethno-state set up specifically for Zionists, treats the Palestinians like s***. Gaza is literally a concentration zone (far too big to be a camp) into which all exit and entry points are controlled by foreign nations (Israel and Egypt). That is just a very simple fact. The inhabitants of Gaza have no true agency over their lives.

Now please don't mistake this statement for any kind of chest-beating support for Palestine or Gaza in particular. Because its not. I simply don't care enough.

But Zionists treat them like s***. They steal their land, they poison their wells, and generally subjugate.

The issue here is not whether the Mail or YL were right. Neither were. They are both things that have no place in our society.

The problem for YL is that it is well known that he can easily be wound up and react. He has lots of previous. So whilst what was being done to him was disgusting he still needed to restrain himself.

A year or two ago my wife got into a confrontation with another lady. It doesn’t matter the reason but the other was bang out of order, completely wrong in her assertions yet very aggressive. My wife wanted to punch her she was so angry. I restrained her and led her away, telling her not to demean herself. YL needs to do the same. Violence never achieves anything.

All I ask is for people to approach it with open eyes, and at least a basic acknowledgement of the facts, as opposed to the spin.

They apply that experience to Israel where they see "Western / Europeans" v brown-skinned Muslims and directly graft their domestic experience on to that issue.

I can see no other justification for completely supporting everything Israel does where their conduct towards Palestinians is partly defensive (justified) but largely abhorrent (no justification).
