Time to prioritise the Conference League

Sadly, with OG and key players departing, it looks like 2025 was a blimp as opposed to the start of us getting to the 'next level'.

I do however think this doesn't have to be the start of a decline, if we really start to prioritise the Conference, and by that I mean resting the odd player in the League game before (like Tottenham did) then we can win the thing and get Europa.

We're unlikely to get relegated, but i'd take a mid-table, even bottom half if it meant winning the Conference and getting into the Europa League. A new manager next summer with the club in Europa could still kick us on.

It is the only cup we have left and qualifying for Europe through the league is looking a bit iffy right now to say the least

I agree, the players need to get inspired for another piece of silverware

And a delicious irony if the competition none of us wanted to be in proved to be the salvation of the season and give some hope for 2026-27 when the future is looking a little bleak today

These were my thoughts today as well.

We haven't yet played a full strength XI in the competition so far, and when all our players are available we are still a good cup team (just don't let on we are crap at set pieces).
