I'm convinced that when I enter Holmesdale Online, I really want to read about anything Palace and football and not topics News and Politics etc. It's essentially a football website, not for me anyway, a place to discuss the general mess that the world is in. Plenty of other sites to do that.

Almost every forum no matter what the main subject has an off topic section for those that are happy to discuss other matters but if you aren't interested in discussing politics and news then just don't go into those sections

I don't like prawn sandwiches.

So I don't eat them.

What a strange OP.
Nothing strange about it. Obviously, I don't bother to read topics I have no interest in. But with anything, if you think the 'system' is wrong, progress(if the general opinion/conclusion) may be achieved by people saying so, not putting one's head in the sand.

I’m with you Brian, I come on here for football and a bit of banter, rarely look at other stuff, I certainly don’t look at any politics, but whatever floats your boat, I have that great thing called choice, and I choose not to look at those threads

I must say I'm similar too. Football and a bit of light entertainment is what I come here for. Political chat I save for actual interaction as online it just turns toxic in every direction after a few posts.

It would be good if there was an Ignore button for entire threads. Then the threads section wouldn't be clogged up with crap I have no interest about reading online.

Someone has given the club three months off so not really much for you see back on the 22nd of August old bean. Unless of course you are the new manger if so get your finger out.

During our 11 hour drive to Leipzig, after about 3.5 hours, one of the boys in the vehicle changed the subject and started chatting about something non-Palace related.

Obviously the rest of us were disgusted. He had a long walk from Eastern Belgium to reflect on his future conversational choices. Lesson learned.

Do you apply this principle universally?

Do you report people at work for having non-work related conversations?
Beat the wife for mentioning something not directly related to family and household?
Kick off in the pub at people ordering soft-drinks?

I consider it entirely reasonable to be able to discuss tlt5 and f@nny on a Palace website. After all, it's sung every matchday. 👍 :football:
