I'm not sure where I'm going with this. With all the concern around our potential league survival...is it really worth worrying about? After a decade in the self-styled Best League in the World we're no further ahead and have little chance of finishing any higher than mid-table.
Most of us have experienced relegation (often several times) and apart from the misery of a bad season it's disappointing but really not the end of the world. Of course we wouldn't make as much money but for club like ours it's a case of running as fast as we can to stay in the same place and we're usually only a couple of injuries away from trouble.
I know this looks like, and probably is, defeatism, or maybe just sour grapes, but the wonderland of the PL is largely a triumph of marketing and creative accountancy which will likely be exposed when the big boys get their wish and disappear off into some form of European super league.
Of course if CPFC were to be bought by some mega rich conglomerate who boosted us to a Man City level of preeminence things would be different.
