The news so far...

World Cup transfer windows are often quiet as most top managers are out there too!

The few deals that are done, especially for players at the tournament, are often at inflated prices - Anderson and van Hecke are prime example.

Also Sage doesn't officially join until next Monday so he will want a few weeks of training to see exactly what he has available.

We definitely need a few players in - left side attack and CM for me, and if anyone is to leave they will clearly need to be replaced.

Prices are silly ATM and after the money spent/wasted in January we need to pick very carefully in this window.

Some patience is not a bad thing.

This time of year really annoys me as it all seems sell, sell, sell. If you believe all the press we will be hard pressed to put a team of 11 out at the start of the season as we would have sold everyone! Personally, I think we will make some good signings as soon as Sage gets his feet under the table. Im also feeling excited for the season ahead.

We should get tough on the press like Fergie did. Tell players that if transfer rumours are leaked - they will not be sold. Look, for instance, how the rumours only really swirl around players big teams want to get rid of. All of our rumours are the players we want to keep. We really should teach these greedy agents (who are behind all of this) a proper lesson, Palace style. It really is time to stop getting shafted like this.

I have always imagined that there is little need to decide halfway through the summer the types of players we require, then scramble trying to get somebody to fit that profile, often paying over the odds for duds.

It does always feel/look like this however.

So I can either believe the club would benefit enormously from me communicating my insight or there is far much to it all, and going on, then I can even begin to comprehend.

Doesn't make it any less frsutrating however. We definitely need to see some action before the season kicks off. Probably quite a bit actually. I just hope the necessary work has and is being done and will stick with blind faith for now.

Tottenham have also signed Fernandes from Wet Spam

In addition to Martin Dubravka, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.

You are both right of course. Spuds have been getting very busy in the last couple of days.

Of course, they were a whisker away from relegation on the final day of the season. They need major work.

The fact we haven't announced our own flurry of random signings on the same day as them isn't an issue for us.
