The irony of this thread, that many are missing.....
Conservative christians have far more in common with Islam than lefties :
- girls being virgins on their wedding night
- attitudes to drink & drugs
- women as married breeders & childminders ( not single mums on the dole, nor all careerist high flyers)
- even many attitudes to gays & trans
- attitudes to blasphemy, comedy, and respect.
- democracy or monarchy ( clerics & State ), and the legitimacy of political violence.
Discuss....

Any the irony of a LBGT drugs for all political party persuading Muslim elders in Manchester to make their families vote for them because they were shown a leaflet with Starmer shaking hands with Modi.
A couple of points.
1. Most non Church of England faiths are quite happy (for now) with the COE being the official state religion. Why?
Because in our diverse society we have to give them official recognition as well. So in the House of Lords if you have bishops you also have to have other faith leaders. If you give a break to the COE you also have to give it to the other religions.
2. There was a gathering of Muslims (thousands) in a Birmingham park recently and some people got upset and said it was intimidating and it should not be allowed in public spaces.
Yesterday on Kelsey Green there was a Christian gathering to celebrate Easter and several hundred turned up. Whilst they were well behaved I can't say I was too happy about it as I walked through them to get home. As a non Christian I didn't feel comfortable about them using a public space when we have many churches in Beckenham.
In short I would ban all faith meetings from public spaces. If you want to hire a hall or football stadium fine, a public park, no.

Immigration is supposed to be a positive and yet it hasn't been any benefit to the average person.
The welfare bill is now enormous and it has been proven that there is no wider financial benefit to mass immigration.
