We may as well get with the programme, now that Oliver's army will be invading the land of Lederhosen, Bratwurst und weissbier. Us Celts regard yis Sassanachs as basically Teutonic blow-ins to these islands. Only been here for 1600 years - tourists - yis look German and ya cannot hide it from yer Ancestry DNA tests. Can we get the Croydon Home Office to send yis all Home ? The English are so Germanic you even have an Eagle on your football logo - and all your trains run on time. You are so unBritish yis don't even fight at Weddings. The Roman Legions should have stayed here and kept yis all out. And take yer funny Germanic hybrid language with yis - it will never catch on - Slan Abhaile.

From Clapham/Balham to Arnham and onward to Hamberg.....

The name Arnhem, a city in the Netherlands first mentioned around 893 as Arneym or Arentheym, is generally believed to derive from Old Dutch/Germanic elements, likely combining arn ("eagle") and hēm ("home" or "settlement"). It is commonly interpreted as "Eagle's Home" or "Eagle Settlement," potentially signifying a place where eagles were common or symbolically significant

Leipzig refers to 'Linden trees' in Proto Slavic.

Of course its different to Sel-hurst which refers to Willow trees in Celtic/Saxon.

There is a backwater near Croydon whose name has been corrupted over the years Thornton Heath, was in fact Fort Neef an old Saxon fort used against the Romans, and anyone from Millwall.

Not sure if it's a term of endearment but the Germans refer to us as Insel Affen...
Island Monkeys

and the French call yis 'Roast Beef' ...Rosbif....

Are we allowed to refer to the German square head ? or has that language been given a capital punishment ? Decapitated ?

During your stay in Leipzig, i heartily recommend any of you who are interested in the local Beef labeling supervision duties delegation law, memorize the important word, "Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz".

It will pay dividends on your hamburger.
