Things can always change of course, but I didn't get the impression that the likes of Wharton, Lacroix and Munoz would be departing.
Top of my wish list would be a young James McArthur type all round midfielder.

2. Players where substantial bids come in for them and either their heads get turned or the offer if too big to turn down (i am thinking of Wharton, Lacroix and possibly Munoz)
3. Mateta will no doubt get his move this summer, especially if he does well at the World Cup.
4. We have a new manager coming in and assessing players asap. He may well see that certain players are not of the standard required or fit their system. They will want to ship those out and bring new players.

Parish may want a reasonably quiet summer, but I doubt he will get one. And if we are not prepared, it will be another shambles and last day scramble. Sound familiar ?

I imagine that we may well lose Mateta, and potentially Munoz. If they want to go and strong offers come in, we should let them go given their ages, though I would prefer to keep both of them. I do not believe that we would permit either Lacroix or Wharton to leave. Both are young and have 3 years left on their contracts. We will not be offered a value which would be worthwhile for either (if offered perhaps £60m for Lacroix and £100m for Wharton we would have to take it seriously, not less, and we will be offered lesser sums). I would like to see Imray and Ozoh given a chance in the 1st team squad, not convinced by the other loanees though.

I am really hoping (incoming dissent !!) that we persuade Kamada to stay, but if not we need major strengthening in defensive midfield, especially if we are unconvinced (as is likely) that Doucoure will achieve both fitness and a standard somewhere near his previous ability. Lerma may be worth keeping as a utility player but I fear Hughes has deteriorated, and neither should be starting in midfield against serious opposition. I am hoping Devenny may continue to develop. His chances have been surprisingly limited this season - not sure if he has what it takes but I certainly think he tries to get involved and has shown some signs of ability. I am also assuming that we keep Guessand, so Devenny's only chance will be more defensively, but I can see him as a box-to-box type midfielder, if we need one.

I think that is quite likely, especially in a world cup year with an extended competition.

We have the added complication of a new manager with his own ideas about who to sign/retain/sell/loan. Also a Director of Football of whom the jury is very much out on. Also some players who might want to seek pastures new, like Nketiah, Lerma, Kamada and possibly our talismanic striker as well. Hopefully not Lacroix, Munoz and Wharton or any others though.

That doesn't seem like a particularly quiet summer if all those need replacing. We have to make decisions about older players like Hughes and Clyne, as well as younger ones like Ozoh, Franca and Rak Sakyi as well. If we truly want to go deep in Europe again unless he fishes deeply in the free transfer market I can see Parish and co having to spend a fair bit in July/August.

I expect Imray to stay and we won't sell Devenny who will be needed as a squad player. Cardines played in both wingback positions in the final game which suggests he can be an option if Mitchell is injured. We still have Sosa for LWB as well.

I am worried about next season! With Freedman gone, Glasner gone and - probably - Mateta, Lacroix, Lerma and Kamada (maybe Munoz) leaving and our struggle in PL this season, maybe we would be better off not playing in Europe?
We need some decent players in and seeing JSL/Johnson in for about 85 mill, who in our adminstration will be able to "do a Freedman"? Hopefully at least 3-4 players from our academy will be included in our squad and used regularly, March from Brighton an interesting one. But please no more Wolves players!!! And if we can get that French manager from Lens, we might get it right. But please, no Dyche or Lampard to take over from OG...
