The expansion of Islam

There's no general thread for the jihadists. The religion of peace spreads itself peacefully across nations, Africa being a current silent recipient of the love from fundamentalists for example with the massacres of Christians in Mali and Nigeria.

It's a relentless war on all fronts, I can't ever see an end to it.

the expansion described below. Seemingly, It ain't gonna happen. China & Japan have proven to be a stumbling-block.

I think they are just 25 years or so behind us

Expanding like a tumour.

Relevant to the OP, you might put Japan & China at one end of the Continuum - ie not much Expansion. Where is at the other end ? Lebanon ? Kosovo ? Marseille, France ?

closer to home ?

the AI gave me the answer below.......

Savile Town in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, is frequently identified as the most Muslim town/area in England, with roughly 99% of its approximately 4,000 residents identifying as Muslim. It is characterized by a very high density of mosques—including the large Markazi mosque—along with halal butchers, and Islamic clothing shops

It's a religion they are by the very tennet of their faith expansionists.

Christians are too.We spent years spreading Christianity by force through the crusades and latterly empire.

Always has been always will be.

I had the JW 's round the other day, apparently I am destined for the fiery pits of hell.....

No.

Firstly, it's not a religion, it's a way of life including finances and how to live, without any variation. That makes it a cult imo.

Secondly, you've taken the leftist bait on the crusades. They were not expansionist, they were a reaction to a Muslim invasion of Europe by the Ottomans after they had already taken over 1/2 the Christian world by force. Are Budapest and Vienna part of the islamic world? No. But they would but if not for King Sobieski of Poland who led 60,000 cavalry into Pasha's siege army of Vienna which was on its knees with 11,000 defenders, and routed his 160,000 Ottoman invader troops.

This idea that the Crusades were expansionist into Muslim lands needs quashing - it's another pro Muslim bit of gaslighting - they were a reaction to massive Muslim expansion, which is still continuing today.

Evangelicism.....actively seeking new recruits. It contrasts to some other religions. I once knew a Catholic fella who wanted to become a Jew( & marry one of their ladies). They made him jump through a hundred hoops before allowing him into their flock. The Amish are similarly unenthusiastic about accepting new adult recruits - any tatoo and you are banned.

A huge factor is who is allowed to marry (or date) whom. Some religions are open & tolerant. Others not so much. Even Northern Ireland, during the Troubles, had a taboo on Catholics & Protestants coupling off together.

A massive part of the OP is connected, not with battles, but to romance. Statistically this is very significant.

UK based young men, bringing in Brides from abroad.
UK based women, bringing in Grooms, ditto.

I'm m sorry that narrative is a right wing reinterpretation of history. I don't accept it. Equally we had empire and missionaries sent out to 'civilise,' the colonies

I don't have any skin in the game here as not bothered by religions either way but I do wonder why if all these people who will be seeking to 'unite the nation,' as a Christian country on 16/5 are so religious the churches are no heaving every Sunday.

Religion is used as a proxy for all sides of most arguments and has started more wars that possibly anything else.
