The Donald Trump thread

Did I say they did? I said they’re probably mourning the gunman failed....etc

While I've never considered it on Hol, I can think of one or two that would fit your description.....others though with the maturity to abhor that method of power transfer.

Your description though fits countless progressives in America after Charlie Kirk, as the aftermath proved.

There are definitely a lot more unhinged progressives/leftists in America than we see here - that 'meme-able' they/them with 19 piercings and green hair seems way more prevalent over there, and many seem to have a dizzying lack of logic and critical thinking ability.

Thankfully, I think it's a much smaller minority here, and by consequence I think the sort of discourse around politics and political violence is very different.

I think it's very unrealistic to pretend that celebrating assassination attempts is a view held by any sort of meaningful percentage of people on here, or in the UK as a whole.

I think that along with the increasing levels of nihilism in society.....both on the left and right.....that attachments to what we would call normalcy isn't as strong in younger generations than you'd think.

Britain is said to always be ten years behind where the States is......Not something I always adhere to but it's true in some regards.

I think because younger people have less 'skin in the game', due to several factors, they are going to be far more radical than other generations, who managed to get footholds far more easily than today's generation.

That means more of the younger demographic will identify with the anti establishment right or left.

We are entering an era in the west where establishment parties are going to get a kicking.
