How many have you seen? Do you agree with the top 10? I might have to check out Chernobyl after seeing this...

Off the top of my head in no particular order.

Star Trek TOS and Next Generation.
Life On Mars/Ashes To Ashes.
Breaking Bad.
The Sopranos.
Spartacus - Blood and Sand etc.
Lost.
Line Of Duty.
Dallas.
Fawlty Towers.
Big Bang Theory.
Vikings.

Mad Men
Brideshead Revisited
Sopranos
I Claudius
Camomile Lawn
Bleak House
Breaking Bad
Happy Valley
Fawlty Towers
The Office

A ridiculously bad list imho. There were TV shows before the internet was invented!

Where's 'The Golden Shot' or 'Bullseye' for example? But seriously, any list that doesn't have Fawlty Towers at or near the top is a travesty, but then I suppose it and John Cheese have long since been cancelled.

Just off the top of my head, mine is

Only fools
Minder
Peep show
Men behaving badly
Fringe
Breaking bad
Game of Thrones( before they lost the plot with last series)
Moving story(comedy drama in the 90’s)
The Sweeney(childhood memories watching with my dad)
The Professional’s

Fair point but I suspect it was collated by an American.

Must have been compiled by a retarded american who has never been outside of his home town and thinks TV only start when streaming came along.🤪🤪.
Whilst some of the shows on the list are great imho these are as good or better
Morse
Line of Duty
Peaky Blinders
Endeavour
Only fools and horses
Fawlty Towers
Monty Python Flying Circus
Sherlock
Happy Valley
Etc,etc

If 'Eldorado' hasn't made it onto that list it's deffo a cr*p list....... best comedy soap ever and won the TV Golden Jelly Award for wobbliest scenery

No mention yet of:
Porridge
Dixon of Dock Green
The Avengers
Hancock's Half Hour
Till Death Us Do Part
The Prisoner
Gideon's Way
Public Eye
The Human Jungle

All better than some of the junk that's churned out today.

Not to mention:

Crown Court
Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Armchair Theatre

If I'm reading it correctly (difficult on a small screen), the US copy of The Office is in the list but The Office isn't. I mean, come on...

And another thing....

I've watched Breaking Bad and I enjoyed it, but even that went a bit awry for quite a chunk of it. I don't know if it was (as usual!) writers' strikes or maybe trying to squeeze an extra season in somewhere along the line, but I thought it got very disjointed and rambling until it pulled itself around.

And then I watched Better Call Saul. I persevered with it thinking "this HAS to get better soon, surely", but it never did. It was a good idea, but for me it never got going and was just a dreary, long-drawn-out dirge with unappealing characters.

Incidentally, thank goodness I've never paid to watch any of this 'American stuff'. I've always relied on borrowing DVDs or chogging other people's log-ins, although that's become more tricky now.

Anyone seen 'Slow Horses'? I like that.

Slow Horses is good and the books are too.
No love on here for Oz. Surely the maddest and most vicious programme but quite addictive if you like that sort of thing.

The problem with these lists is they are compiled from people who have gone onto a rating website e.g. IMDB and posted a review. Well how many of us can be bothered to do that?

So it will always be skewed in favour of a group who either love or hate a programme so much that they feel the need to post about it.

Anyway you might as well ask people what their favourite ice cream flavour is.
