Textor buying Everton? / Bids to buy Palace outright

Sportsbank invest £230m in Eagle Football Holdings.

There are some disturbing rumours about the 2 front men for Sportsbank I just hope a responsible journalist looks into them and clarifies them.

Not sure whether they will still have to pass the FA's fit and proper test as they are owners from a distance or whether Parish and Co can stop them.

I will make one prediction. I don't expect £230m to come our way more likely Lyon will be the beneficiaries.
I share your concern. The way i read it, was that they are only investing in the company & not Palace, Lyon et al, tho you know as well as i do, that could all change.

I believe the rumours have been claimed to be false. An alleged smear campaign

If it’s true that’s the way I read it. Any funds could be used for anything………hang on Lyon have financial issues! So no room for excitement, in this scenario textor’s going nowhere.
It’s also not “their” money as such but raised through financing. Nothing wrong with that but if they got control of the club do you think they would a) service the debt from their own pockets b) load the debt on the club giving us £150m of debt to service?

Isn’t this an investment in a company that owns 45pc of our shares, nothing to do with Palace getting funds
Agree, Eagle holding own 45% of Palace and the consortium is investing in that company and not Palace directly.

It waters down Textors influence but not massively if the consortium share his football philosophy which they appear to

Yes this consortium is buying a chunk of John Textor's company Eagle Football holdings. I think its the media that has confused its readers/viewers by insinuating that its Textor's Palace shares that they are buying. They are not.
So if this goes ahead (I'm sure this is correct but please correct me) Steve Parish will remain a 10% shareholder, Josh Harris and David Blitzer each own 18% shares, 8% are held by numerous small investors (Steve Browett I think is still one of them) and the remaing 46% will be held by Eagle Holdings who will no longer be solely owned by John Textor but also by this consortium (which will STILL only have a 25% vote on decisions made in the board room at Palace.

It seems to me (in view of the deal that is becoming clear now) that this consortium are interested in Textor's multi club ownership business, not Palace. Yes they could launch a full blown take over once they have their foot in Textor's door but Parish, Harris and Blitzer with their voting rights still hold all the cards.

In Essence

Sportsbank is Textors preference as it its investment in Eagle Holdings - that would mean more capital and money into the group as a whole (i.e Lyon, botafogo, Mowlenbek & Palace) - this is textors preference as he wants to put Eagle on the Stock Exhange and go public with an IPO. Also Sportsbank investment would lead the way to eventually (they hope) buy out Blitzer and Harris and Parish - the article also notes Parish isnt keen on the whole multip club thing. Hoever it does say if sportsbank invest in Eagle, textor may step aside and let someone else (the palace fan involved in sportsbank) run things.

Botafogo - SOuth American Talent - RWD Meolenbek used as a club to get past the UK work permit and get players into europe is also mentioned as part of that group - however palace havent really been involved with the players apart from a few loans to belgium)

The other bid made up of two Saudi US based backers, with the Dallas Mavericks GM and a Roc nation exec, has bid 185 mill for textors 45% share. This would rid of Textor and Eagle completely.

Textor essentially giving 2 exclusivities for 2 different things

Sportsbank wouldnt invest in Eagle without Palace being in the group as is the Premier League money and prestige they would want if the group was to be listed on the NYSE.

Parish has also met with both groups.

More cloak and dagger than smoke and mirrors! Personally, read this I would prefer not to have Sportsbank
