Tennents Super

A lot of lagers just taste like flavourless pi55 to me, Carling Heineken, Speroni, Corona, there’s just nothing to them. I worked with a fella once who proudly announced that he drank 90 cans of Carling one Easter weekend that I helped load into his car, my first thought was why? even for a heavy drinker who I know stops tasting it after a time, at least pick something that you can taste the first few cans
Innis and Gunn is nice lager. Don't know if pubs sell it in England but Tesco's have it.

Thats because a lot of the mass produced lagers are flavourless piss with sales pretty much based on marketing rather than the actual quality of the beer .
The latest trend is 'Spanish' lagers , its a massive con with every single one of them you find in the pub brewed in the UK . They try to give the illusion of an imported premium beer so they can charge more when in fact its the same pish as all the others .

Yes Madri is overrated, I’ve never liked San Miguel, my beer of choice when on holiday over there is Estrella
I’m not a massive drinker these days, but when I do I go for cider now, I can’t cope with the gas of lager, cider is so much more refreshing. Although when someone is on their 90th can of Carling, I should imagine it stopped being refreshing about 88 cans ago, so it doesn’t really matter

I don't know the ins and outs of it but Holsten sold its overseas distribution to Carlsberg in 2004 . This led to Holsten being brewed in the UK and like ALL continental pilsners that this happens to it turns to crap .

I agree about Lowenbrau ,I think I might have ended up with a drink problem if that was still on offer down the local
Echo this for ale too, Old Speckled Hen no longer brewed in Abingdon and just not as good.

Spanish San Miguel is a nice beer. The shite brewed in Stockport is undrinkable piss.
The global companies buy out the local breweries and ruin them.
Mahou is lovely - no doubt it will be ruined once they start brewing it in The UK.
If in Murcia order Estrella de Lavente- only sold in that region and a malty lager that is bliss.

.........and I'm guessing brand names as well. Although I haven't drunk in over 20 yrs I remember there used to be a bar on 3rd Ave called The Manchester Pub which used to sell Draught Double Diamond well after it had finished selling in the UK

Somebody was telling me San Miguel is from the Philippines. I never looked into it. Is it the Philippines one that is actually the good one? San Miguel export or something?
