Team vs Fulham

Took us a while to get to rips but we were ok the last 15 mins or so. They had 7 players at the World Cup of which just 3 made the QFs and no further. in other words they're further down the road to sharpness than we are with their full team (we've still got 5 away on a break.

First 25 minutes was quite alarming, no ball retention, they played through us any time we pressed. Then we had a couple of chances and grew into the game and after scoring could quite easily have scored another couple after getting into good positions resulting from a good press/poor Fulham passing.

Hopefully more of the latter in the second half... Because the first 25 minutes was a little worrying!

He's having a go which is great to see. If he keeps scoring his energy will lift the team.
It was a good finish while being clattered from behind, didn't seem to bother him either.

I noticed that, and Rak Saki did not look comfortable there.
Furthermore, when Franca and Nketiah were on together, it was Nketiah who stayed in the wider left position to which he continues to look. ill suited.
Devenny was used on the right of the front 3 too , as if Glasner was still the coach!
Probably not much learnt from the game really.
I would expect Henderson, Munoz and Mateta to come straight back in.
Tomiyasu will be a strong contender for a starting place if he can stay fit.
From the commentary I noted the mention that Drakes Thomas needs more strength to be considered.
Unsurprising at his young age.

Let's hope for the same resuly when we meet them in the League in a few weeks time. Also - agree re Tomiyasu. Seemed to have time on the ball when he had it and was alert and ready when last ditch defending required.
