Team v Lens

Drakes-Thomas had moments again where he showed he can turn a defender inside out. I'd say he's got more about him than Johnson, and definitely more than Esse or JRS, both of whom were anonymous again. Ozoh showed some promise, and Doucoure looked a bit sharper after more minutes in his legs. Our defence in both games was so makeshift that it did make the whole thing a bit pointless. One concerning thing, even with all the absentees, was that it was hard to see what the plan was. It's still very early days though, so to pass judgement at this stage is bonkers.

The one player who tried to make things happen - perhaps overdid it a tad, but I'd much rather that than playing too safe. Both Ozoh and Doucoure showed some promise with some good ball winning and distribution but were let down by those who received their telling passes.

JRS and Esse showed nothing other than (in Esse's case) frustration with silly fouls and sloppy passing.

As for the plan, I assume it's to end up playing like Lens did against us with aggressive pressing and quick moving of the ball.

Owing to having so many 1st XI players at the World Cup, it's my view that we're unlikely to see the side up to speed until after the first International Break. I expect us to be in the relegation zone after the first four games.

I never get the impression that he really wants it. At least with JPM you know that he will clatter into the defender if he has to.

If your not prepared to put your foot in you are not going to win the 50/50 balls.

Which is strange because his goals for spuds he needed to get his foot in on some , with a lack of confidence maybe thats why

Growing up I heard this a lot people calling Penge, Ponge. I recently discovered this dates back to the 1930's when a movement to gentrify Penge started (not very well I might add, the state of the place).

We had a game at our own academy ground vs Swindon, followed by a game down the road at Bromley FC. When we get back from this cup we're off to Fulham.

There is a bit of both types.
