We played like a bunch of strangers, which in a sense the team which we fielded are.

As was stated several times by Brighty, Lens are the Sage finished product; we're at the beginning of his project. If we end up playing the kind of football Lens did, then I'll be delighted. We should also note that there were probably only 2 1st team starters in that XI (Mitchell and Canvot). I don't know how strong that Lens team was but I suspect it will have contained over half their 1st XI.

They are still paid professionals deemed good enough for contracts at CPFC however. If this is our depth then it's understandably unnerving.

Given all the first team absences, it begs the question, whats the point?
