Takehiro Tomiyasu

I liked him as a player at Arsenal when he was playing regularly. In previous season's we have had Munoz and Clyne as the right back options with Cardines as an understudy. Presumably if we intend to keep Munoz where does Oscar Mingueza fit into the equation ? I get that Munoz has had a massive amount of game time given our European involvement and him been a first choice player for his country so signing Mingueza looked a good move to me. Unless the plan is to play Tomiyasu as part of the back 3 then do we need another right back / right wing back ? I would be looking at cover for Mitchell as Sosa has not looked that good since he has arrived.

Guess what? At the moment he is injured, no news as to the extent 😏

So, an injury prone ex-arsenal player, an over-priced European player, a 'prospect' or a player that will cost the earth just to loan. Hmm decisions, decisions.
My thoughts exactly. As we're clearly on the cheap, Tomiyasu it is and maybe Le Guen if cheap enough. Forget about the rest. Achepong is over rated too - considerably over rated.

With the Matsima deal falling through it would seem this is very likely to happen now with him playing as the left sided cb of 3. Plenty of top class experience in the Prem and international football. Already living in London and a mate of Kamada. If he stays fit could be a very good free signing. The Lacroix money can then go elsewhere.

If he is healthy, sign him. He'll come in at the right budget for us and could be a solid player at the right price. These are the kind of players that appeal to our budget, high reward, minimal risk. If he has a great year then sell him for a butt load and move on.
