Syria

Country's like Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq need a "tyrant" or dictator. Can't say any of those country's are better off now without a Gaddafi or a Hussain.
The way these countries are performing Netanyhu may well be that man. I can see Iran are looking for a kicking.

The good old “come one, come all” EU. No chance we will follow suit but this is the correct course of action imo. You will now see Pro-Assad supporters claiming asylum, so both factions on our streets….happy days

What it means for the UK, in spite of getting into bed with the new regime of re-categorised "non-terrorists".is another large influx of refugees, court appeals over asylum claims, and a heightened terror risk as liberated weapons find Western targets.

But I also note Stirling's comments about Israeli action in Syria, now increasingly acting as a proxy for the use of American weapons in line with American Policy.

Many countries have stopped the claims and rightly so. Assad was the reason they fled. Now he’s gone they can go home. Syria is a bit more advanced than Afghanistan and hopefully the different groups are a bit more sensible or it will be another Afghanistan. There are lots of Christian’s in Syria and if churches start getting destroyed and Christian’s or certain Islamic sects then it will fail. Although who will they march for over here. Not Jews v the rest so pick a side !

While I think all of us can agree that Assad is no better than any other Arab dictator.....because that's all of them regardless I must admit you have to stare in wonder at how this overthrow has been presented in our media.

It's as if they have to have goodies and baddies to present.....some side to back over another. They can't seem to mentally accept that most of the time it's all just variations of god damn awful.

They kept on referring to these terrorist organisations as 'rebels'...the choice of language being deliberate.....treating the general public as moronic and uninformed. The guy in charge is/was literally a leader in Al-Qaeda and someone who was known to be responsible for killing western troops. Yet all this stuff was glossed over with suggestions that these 'rebels' were somehow new men.

No analysis is of course given to the motives of those who backed this collection of groups.....who is funding them and supplying them. No, as usual with our media you are expected to believe that everything is organic and that money and equipment is somehow being grown in caves or something.

Anyway, as with Ukraine while media can lie to a mostly uninterested public what they can't hide is the battlefield realities......believe me, if they could lie about it for an advantage they would......eventually battlefield realities have to be admitted to and what we are seeing on the ground appears to be a scramble for power......Israel with US support taking advantage of the chaos before these groups finish their looting and get organised again. Will Israel start fighting these rebels for territory?.....don't know if not they will probably descend into infighting as befits the usual playbook.

There are thousands of Christians in Syria......lambs to the slaughter to these 'rebels'.

I could have put this on my stupid news stories thread. I think it was the Daily Mail?

The rebels are close to over running the Syrian prison camp where Shamima Begum and other lowlifes are held. People are concerned for her safety 😕 what is our government going to do (nothing, thank god).

Are they serious? She's in no danger these are her people they will probably give her a job in the cabinet.

Anyway coming to the UK soon, Shamima is escorted by the French Navy to Portsmouth to be greeted by thousands of her supporters waving ISIS flags whilst in the background they set alight to Nelson's Victory. The police just stand there and watch.

They'll just be like the Ethiopians - live here for free and just go home for the holidays/family events/FGM

Rather unsurprisingly, Assad was feted by our monarchy and establishment.

He even went down the Mall in an open-top royal limousine, his wife being British and very attractive was a sort of Middle East princess.

And to cap it all, the British PM at the time, Tony Blair, recommended Assad for a knighthood!

Must be the spare one the Mayor is getting.
