And add in Iain Phillip, Charlie Cooke, Tony Taylor, Roy Barry, Willie Wallace and a couple more and we've had a fair share. Also our highest goal scorer Peter Simpson.

In 1990 I was working at the terminal in Orkney but staying in Kirkwall. This coincided with the Scotland Brazil match and the only person watching was me. When I queried this with some Aberdonians the next week they told me that most people on Shetland and Orkney did not consider themselves particularly Scottish.

There’s an old English saying……f*** ‘em!! The jocks and the taffs always revel in our demise, so why should we want them to do well?

Back in the day when I was a kid and England didn’t qualify for two world cups on the trot and Scotland had some great players I wanted them to do well, but I’m old and bitter now🤣
