Start to the season

Given our fixtures our start to the season has been impressive. 5 points from three tricky EPL games. Only conceded once. Through to the group stage of the Conference League. All with a very small squad. Credit to OG and the players

I just had a look at the league table and yes, of course we are only 3 games in, but the only unbeaten Premier League Teams are:

Chelsea
Palace

And Chelsea are only unbeaten because the match officials in the first game dug up an old rule everyone else had forgotten about.

An old rule they made up a few years ago. At one time referees were there to enforce the rules of the game. Now they seem to have the power to make them up. Football is being ruined by Webb and his cronies.

Remember last season; we had 3 points after 8 games, and only 7 points after 10 games.

We finished on 53 points; therefore adding 46 points in the last 28 games (1.64 per game).

This season is following the same ratio; 5 points after 3 games (1.66 per game).

If we can keep the form we have achieved over the last 31 games (for the next 35 league games), we’d reach 62 points by match day 38 - that would have meant an 8th place finish (3 points behind 7th) last season.

We are looking a much better team already and we now have more players signed up to put on the bench (and replace Eze).

Let’s pray we can maintain this momentum for a full season, throw in a good cup run or three, and who knows what OG/MG will decide come May 2026.
