It's usually Judge Nolan making a bit of a name for himself. Seems unable to imprison sex offenders. This one wasn't. Must just be orders from on high. I'd have a guess at there being no secure spaces for special category prisoners in Ireland. Pretty safe bet I'd say.

Not guilty on murder I can understand. How on enough the jury decided not guilty on manslaughter.

The whole case sounds very strange to be fair. If I were to give my opinion with just what's here, he sounds guilty. But obviously I don't have the full knowledge. I'd say there was a lot of emotion.
Agreed.
I would argue that whether he intended to kill her or not can't be proved. But by his own evidence he behaved in a reckless manner waving a knife around so that to me is manslaughter as it is a foreseeable circumstance.
If I accidentally tripped and bumped into someone who then fell and hit their head that is not manslaughter as it could not be foreseen. If I kept bumping / pushing that person then it would be.

The 31-year-old Dublin man pleaded guilty to harassment over a week-long period in September 2025.
Now in fairness to this this particular case it looks like the man has 38 previous convictions that include theft, assault and criminal damage who was also on bail.
But I do agree that judge nolan gives significantly less or no jail time to pedos and what not.
