ST waiting list experience

I've joined the waiting list in may 2024 over a year ago. Confirmation email stating my place is row 4 seat 13 whatever that means. In comparison if you'd join today your place would be row 60 seat 59.
Was fully expecting to be in front of the queue but haven't received invitation email. With community shield tickets being released out of desperation I've contacted box office and been told my place in the queue approximately 3100.
I find it hard to believe it could take another few years to get in front. Old forum post searching people waited no longer that a year.
I get the team is right on the top now, record renewal rate, only 300 new season ticket this year. But 3100? Joined way over a year ago.
The only way I can think of it there's tons of users joined the waiting list and never bothered to accept invitation and they're forever stuck at the front.
What was your experience of the waiting list and finally getting a st?

Didn't have a waiting list when I got mine. Then again, not everyone wanted to watch championship football.

I joined the waiting list in Feb this year and got the invitation email on Thursday as per the website. I thought the process was surprisingly straightforward so yours might have got stuck somewhere. Assume you checked spam etc

Thanks for confirming they screw up something. I've been constantly checking all mails since 9th July.

That's the screenshots with all dates. Will try to contact them again.

I don't think its straight forward - especially since Ticketmaster took over.

I know of lots who managed to get Season tickets straight after Covid without much of a wait.

We originally signed up for waiting list 2-3 seasons ago got an email to purchase but when went online none were available (just when ticketmaster took over) - Gave up trying for ST - didn't know if we 'kept our place' in ST line - weren't really bothered at the time and moved on (was watching Son play academy football at the time so couldn't make lots of KO times anyway)

This year we thought maybe try again and entered waiting list in Feb (2025) - paying again for both myself and Mrs.

I received an email last week saying priority to purchase ST (Mrs didn't but transpires her email was in Spam) - logged in at allocated time and managed to purchase two in Upper HOL - linked as friends and family (albeit not together-only different rows available).
At first the system kicked us out at the basket and said unable to purchase - second try the purchase went through and got a purchase confirmation email.

Don't know if our original buy-in to waiting list had cycled around to the top or the earlier in the year waiting list purchase was the one that kicked in.

Personally, I think it's pot luck and the box office don't really know what the list is or who is near the top.

Thanks for sharing. I did contact them again. Will see. Not expecting much. I was interested in lower homesdale C-D-E blocks only. Most likely gone by now.

Correction. I just remembered id already joined the waiting list in 22 or 23. I assumed it had expired but obviously not. Apologies

I dropped the box office an email today just to get some clarity on this. They've responded and advised of my place in the queue which is around 2300th. They've also stated that you only pay the £10 the once and this rolls over until eventually you get the option to purchase, whether that be this year or in 3 years.
They also stated to me that there is only 300 available this year as there has been a 98% renewal rate.

Not sure but if you become a member then all tickets bought if you attend any games may go towards your points when you eventually get a season ticket. Just in case it comes around quicker than you expect.

Do you remember when did you join the waiting list? Can search a confirmation email.
Myself joined in May 2024, my place is around 3100.

With the club making it ever easier to share games you cannot go to, and also very easy to resell games you cannot go to via them, the renewal rate is going to be incredibly high for years to come.

You'd be mad to let your s/t lapse. Means those in the waiting list have a years long wait.

You probably meant December 2023 did you? Otherwise it's not right as I've joined 5 months earlier but seating far behind in the queue.
I find this all interesting as we've just managed to secure ST's so I've checked back at past emails.

Originally went on the ST waiting list 3rd May 2023
Offered to purchase (in phase 3) around the 26th May 2023 so less than a month later (don't have the exact email but know the dates as we were in Spain and went to a Valencia game at the time and I still have the ticket for the game on my apple wallet - Valencia v Espanyol 28th May 2023) - when logged in to purchase Palace ST none were available so couldn't purchase.

Gave up on ST's and Ticketmaster (as it looked something was going on with TM and ticket sales) assumed we'd lost our place in waiting list line as didn't purchase when they emailed to say we could.

Went on waiting list again this year 13th Feb 2025 (paid again - no indication we were still on waiting list from original purchase in 2023 - system kindly took our £20 for the two even though we still have same client ref numbers)

Email from the club on 8th July 2025 saying option to purchase ST next day at 10am online.
9th July 2025 managed to purchase two ST's in upper Hol (not together but one behind other on different rows).

So we've either been unknowingly still on the waiting list for two years or the system is random.
