Spurs Predictions.

If Spurs do thump Palace and it's the usual defensive horror show, given that we will be nearly a quarter way into the season with 9 games played and only 7 points on the board, and potentially sliding into the bottom 3 depending on how those teams do, how on earth can Sage remain in the post? I don't think he can.

I did say pre-Fulham that I think we can get a draw but a rare hat-trick of wins at the Spuds would be very tasty. Bring it on!
A Palace win this weekend and we can start thinking about Tottenham being the new Villa in terms of being in our back pocket.

This will be a tough game but they will push forward and this will give us chances. We need to be clinical when our opportunities come. I am going to say 2-3 to Palace but still fifth on MOTD! 🦅🦅❤️💙❤️💙🦅🦅 COYP!!

A tough game and tough to take the result, likely to be an emphatic Spurs win, which is likely to see us cement our place in the bottom three with a quarter of the season gone.
As Brucie would say, "didn't he do well"!!

Whilst a win today is the desirable result, the defence is the real problem and I fear Spurs may well expose it again today. We really need Richards to repeat his Leeds and Fulham performance and those around him to excel which is a big ask with the options available. The back post is key if we leave that as exposed as we have recently then we may well be in the bottom three come circa 1930 this evening. lets hope the worst we get is 0-0

I know it looks like we'll get a larruping but this is typical Spurs territory: The sure - fire home win against lie - down opposition and they blow it.

Palace win 2-1.
They have looked a lot better though recently and Maddison’s shaken off his injury which won’t help our cause

Perhaps this is a tactic rather than any individual or organisational dysfunction.

Yep - was wondering if Sage will ask a player to stand near the back post when facing Tottenham corners

Suspect we may lose but I hope not by many. A hard fought loss rather than folding as we did against Brighton. Seem to be prone to early goals in each half. A tenacious draw would satisfy me.

Yes, we give them a free header, it takes them by surprise meaning they miss. The old double, triple bluff.
Perhaps if an attacker at a corner moves well away from the far post, the instruction to the defender might be to not be drawn out to challenge this player but to remain centrally in the 'Danger zone' where a concentration of players and the goalkeeper can defend the 'Second ball'. Pure speculation.

I get it but it doesn't work that way. You can cover both quite easily.
I'd say it's lack of organisation or practice or both. It's very basic - not sure it needs to be that complicated. Do you think it was that complex under Pulis? I very much doubt it.

"Stay on your man", Tony Pulis.
