There's no way he's a £19m player at this juncture. Wrexham may be prepared to overpay so as to push for the play-offs and the chance of PL football. In any event, it seems the issue may relate to the agent playing silly b*****s.

Fully agree. Even if Wrexham were stupid enough to offer that much, the player might not even be interested. Therefore we certainly shouldn't be matching it. We pay the price we think he's worth and if that's not accepted we move on.

If the guy does choose to go into the Championship then he probably wasn't the right player for us anyway.
 
Sky reckon if Wrexham did buy him he'd become the record transfer fee paid in the Championship so either they really reckon him, all that sweet Hollywood money is talking or FFP might come a-knocking.
 
For a 'done deal' a lot of this isn't adding up. Wrexham and Palace are not in the same physical and metaphorical league.

So either we haven't bid, or Wrexham havent bid. In no world are we both after the same player.

with the Hollywood backing they have a large market to tap there selling merchandise over there so they may just get away with it
 
Premier league, Championship, Bundesliga and perhaps La Liga are a decent yardstick, if you excell in these you are pretty certain the will be ok, i still feel Pino, Esse and Nketiah have a lot to offer, if played in the right positions. the French, Italian, etc are not a good yardstick.
 
Aren't the hollywood mob looking to sell Wrexham? Thought I read somewhere they've 10x their money or something like that?

Also - another club being stupid enough to pay over the odds for the player doesn't mean we've been "usurped". Means we're not morons. But whatever works to fit the narrative being pushed I suppose....
