Shyte Sequels to good movies

Doubt. I was waiting for ages - my own fault when the chip shop was still open.
Before modern technology spying on bedroom antics was a little risky. Wardrobes tended to be stand alone and you'd have to barely breathe for 10-15 minutes. Which is slightly easier in a rubber mask. There were gas masks around too - so quite easily modified and cheap. Also an early form of up cycling.

I was wondering where the rustling noise was coming from - thought it was a snack she hadn't killed yet. You should've come out and we could've had a drink to kill the time.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was awful by comparison to ROTLA. But Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade made up for it in my opinion.

Jaws The Revenge also has to be one of the worst sequels out there (until they make Snakes on a hovercraft, perhaps).

Honorable mentions to the Tron, The Crow, The Ring, and Teen Wolf sequels for being as awful as they were.

Halloween: very good slasher movie
Halloween 2 : more of the same
Halloween 3 : what the hell was that all about ? No relevance at all to the previous two filums
Is the best of them all. It's great fun.

The others are a bloke in a mask stabbing people. Dull as. Happens every day in London.

I'd go Jaws 2. The first only worked because of Spielberg and some good acting.
Highlander 2. Utter drivel.
The Godfather 3. Oh dear. The new edit was better.
The Exorcist 2. Garbage. I didn't like the first one much. 3 was the best.
Gladiator 2. Awful. The first was a masterpiece.
Grease 2. Missing everything that made the first one oddly enjoyable.
The Hobbit movies. Lost the magic of the original LOTR series.
Alien 3. Not terrible but a massive disappointment after Aliens.

Luckily, there are some sequels that are better than the originals.

I don’t know how you can say this. The only thing you can possibly criticise it for is there’s a bit too much on Hyman Roth and Fredo but it’s supposed to juxtapose the crumbling of Michael’s family and the rise of young Vito’s family. I agree the first one is better but part 2 is still very very good.

You highlighted Gladiator 2. That confused me.

Godfather 2 is the best of the series by far. In 3, Pachino has turned into his later career persona, Sofia Copolla is awful and the whole style of the film doesn't match the first two.
The new version makes it more watchable.

i have always struggled to understand Why Godfather 3 is so mediocre. But it is only a pale reflection of the first two movies. Both the adult kids of Michael Corleone are annoying and irritating.

The best thing i can say is that it lacks 'grittiness'. Too many marble palaces & 5 Star Hotels. And not enough of the places pasted in below....

.............................

John Gotti's Key Hangouts
John Gotti, the head of the Gambino crime family, did not run his operations out of public bars in the traditional sense, but rather out of "social clubs" that served as mob headquarters and gathering spots.
  • Ravenite Social Club: Located at 247 Mulberry Street in Little Italy, Manhattan, this location became Gotti's primary headquarters after he took over the family in the mid-1980s. Mobsters would gather here to meet with the boss. The FBI successfully placed covert listening devices in an apartment above the club, and the recorded conversations were the primary evidence used to convict Gotti in 1992. The location is now a clothing store called Descendant of Thieves.
  • Bergin Hunt and Fish Club: This storefront in Ozone Park, Queens, was an earlier hangout and operational base for the Fatico gang, which Gotti was a part of. Gotti often began his "working day" at noon at the Bergin club.
  • Sinatra Club: An after-hours club also in Ozone Park, this location was run by a Colombo crime family associate and frequented by Gotti and his crew for gambling and other illegal activitie

I think the gap between 2 and 3 meant that the style and tone of film making had changed too much.
It also seemed like Pacino was playing a different person. The bad hair didn't help.

Michael Corleone shouldn't have a blow dried bouffant either. Maybe he was practicing for Phil Spector's Barnet.

Home Alone 3 and 4 were absolute abominations compared to the first two.

The 3rd and 4th Hunger Games films took a decent book (and an entertaining franchise) and turned them into hours of absolutely tedious films. Perhaps if they'd only made one film from the final book it would've been better.
