Craig Douglas, died today aged 85.

Born on the Isle of Wight as Terence Perkins he became a milkman who liked singing. Known as the singing milkman he started singing professionally and changed his name to Craig Douglas which sounded a bit more rock 'n roll.

Only Sixteen was a copy of Sam Cooke's original and it topped the charts in 1959. He had a number of hits, mostly covers of American hits. A Teenager in Love was also well liked and I have a copy on my jukebox. Nice bloke who still performed into his 70s. Sang from his wheelchair at a benefit concert at Amersham Rock and Roll Club in 2010.
