Shakhtar Donetsk vs Crystal Palace Match Thread

I am having to pinch myself sometimes when you think about the past couple of years ..... Olise, Eze, Guehi and Wharton all playing on our team at the same time, our cup and shield wins, and now one step away from a European final! Been supporting this team for decades, grew up a stones throw from the ground, used to watch "the reserves" every other week at Selhurst Park in the 70's (when I was injured from my rugby team for a whole season) and never ever thought I could celebrate tonight's result. Being a Palace fan has had long suffering moments, but now it has been worth all that angst and frustrations. Onwards and Upwards.

Yup.

These are the best times, aren't they mate:drunk:

Good on yer!

I just realised something: at times this season we have made scoring a goal look like the most difficult thing in the world, and yet this evening we made it look easy - right place, right time, all in with the game plan, all working hard - funny how things can turn. Long may it continue!

My son was born on Sunday, so this was his first ever Palace match.

Shouts of ‘glory hunting’ are circulating however photos of his Dad wearing a Palace shirt with ‘Riihilahti’ on the back have cast doubt on those accusations.

Have to admit, it’s all a bit surreal, isn’t it?

When people were talking of Leipzig before a ball had been kicked, I honestly thought they were taking the p!ss.

COYP, always.

A belated Happy Birthday to him.
You might well have started a new thread here. My "first" game was away at Carlisle in the 4th Division - we drew 2-2.

Great result and a great hardworking performance. Defence stood up to a lot of pressure and our counter attack looked back to near its best.

Ironically I thought Shakhtar were clearly the best team we've played so far. A lot of dangerous players with great technical ability... Certainly would rather our scouting department look at their squad instead of the Wolves team.

Great team performance with a lot of determined displays. Kamada probably the pick of the bunch and very pleased for JSL to get a very important and wonderfully taken goal.

Enjoy all you fans out there, sounded fantastic 👏

As echoed by everyone. What a performance and result! We will need to be focused and professional next week.
You might have forgotten but we have splurged £26 million on a certain young Brazilian which hasn't worked out (thus far). Getting the right one(s) is the hard part.
