Beeb’s own gull
The Beeb’s coverage of
Crystal Palace’s European triumph last week proved to be for the birds. BBC London did a piece celebrating the victory, which it entitled “Highflying Seagulls”. This was a bit awkward as “the Seagulls” are Palace’s fierce rivals, Brighton & Hove Albion. Palace are “the Eagles”. One ex-BBC Sport staff member said the avian confusion needed rectifying, adding: “I hope they get their ducks in a row.”
