Think his tactics were perfect last night.Maybe it is both. The recruitment hasn’t been great but the manager’s tactics are a big problem. At the current time we can change one of those things

That’s fine. You are perfectly entitled to your opinion and ultimately we all have opinions on the game otherwise we wouldn’t be on here. I respect yours but I have a different one. Mingueza has been pony for us so far but may come good. Khalali has been out of his depth so far but may come good. I don’t regard Sarr as a viable midfield option but maybe I am wrong. In midfield centrally we have (when fit) Wharton, Timber, Kamada, Doucoure, Hughes, Mingueza (can and has played cetral midfield), Sarr, Lerma, Pino, Mcneil, Gozo, Ozorio.
All of the above have either previously played in central midfield and can play the role or its their natural position.
On the point of right back. I disagree. Simple as that. Kalaili is young and will make mistakes (News flash, Palace cant afford the finished article, we have to coach him into the finishe article, like we did with Eze, Guehi and countless others). He is comfortable on the ball, has good pace and his crosses are getting better all the time. Yes he is better going forward than he is defending but so was Munoz. Mingueza is the opposite. He is a better defender than attacker but has more experience and every time I have seen him I think he has had a decent game. Mingueza was named in the Europa team of the year for his performances for Celta Vigo. He also came through Barcelona's system. The lad is no mug. To say he is not good enough to be a squad player for Palace is not only laughable, its disrespectful to the lad.

We witnessed a degradation in his performances after he returned from injury.Again, could not disagree more. I haven't seen him play for Forest but their fans are very underwhelmed by him.
Prefect is a bit strong given we didn’t win but they were definitely much better and we were nowhere near as open while still having good energy in attack. Much more balanced. Hope that continues.Think his tactics were perfect last night.
I know Munoz hasn’t pulled up trees there but do you really think Khalali has been better?Again, could not disagree more. I haven't seen him play for Forest but their fans are very underwhelmed by him.

I agree with your assessment, however we played a Besiktas team with 9 changes and the goals we conceded were disappointing. We have now conceded 10 goals in 3 matches and this is a cause for concern.Prefect is a bit strong given we didn’t win but they were definitely much better and we were nowhere near as open while still having good energy in attack. This is a fight this year to stay in premier League, look at west hamI agree with your assessment, however we played a Besiktas team with 9 changes and the goals we conceded were disappointing. We have now conceded 10 goals in 3 matches and this is a cause for concern.

Most balanced performance I've seen this season, and I had forgotten how much better Mateta is to the now injured new fellah, lanky Larsen ( a real tryer but sadly seems to lack that extra special bit).Big Difference against Besiktas was that Kamada and Wharton were back together rather than Kamada being out wide or pushed forward.Timber pushes up too far in the games I have seen leaving Wharton exposed.
Also Mcneil helped Khalaili who looked way less exposed
England
When are they ever NOT?!I agree with your assessment, however we played a Besiktas team with 9 changes and the goals we conceded were disappointing. We have now conceded 10 goals in 3 matches and this is a cause for concern.

I was attempting to assert that they were examples of abject defending. When are they ever NOT?!

I have enjoyed a long life given that I am nearing 74!Not much talk of us going into the lions den last night, after a shocking defeat and getting a good draw, unlucky not to get the win. Or a good first team goal and a great finish from matteta.
When we win (Forest, Fulham) we are lucky. But not many saying we were unlucky not to beat Everton/Leeds.
People saying they will wait to see how we do on sunday to see if last night was a decent result.
Seriously I bet when some of the posters on here are getting a bl*w job, they are moaning to there Mrs that last night dinner wasn’t upto scratch.
Sages first eleven when he joined would have included Henderson, Munoz, Lacoix, Sarr and JPM , the spine of the team when he came in have hardly played.
We are 14th in the league (two winnable games coming up) , last 16 in the league cup, first season in Europa 1win, 1 defeat , 1 draw.
A large proportion on here need to get a f*cking life.

The amount of times I have to get up in the night, I’ve never got much water left 🤣I have enjoyed a long life given that I am nearing 74!
As I continue to slide down the 'Bannister' of life, hopefully the splinters will not point in the wrong direction.
Apropos the Besiktas match, I have not been over-freighted by positivity on HOL, however I asserted that I had a 'Feeling in my water' that we would attain a creditable result and thankfully, for once, I was proved right.

Yes a moist mattress is not very pleasantThat's a worse problem than waking up.

I'm veering more and more into wanting Sage gone. I can feel s*** performances coming up in my bones. I don't think he'll change.
England
But his strategy doesn't account for the likelihood of player errors. That's my concern.Player errors, that's where we failed yesterday, not strategy
Scotland
And they're errors which have invariably been seized upon by strikers more clinical than ours. But his strategy doesn't account for the likelihood of player errors. That's my concern.
