A lot of Palace Fans on here sounding like Brighton last year calling for coaches head

Now look at Brighton

As they say careful what you wish for

Me I’d f’ing rip a new one in every player today , lazy , gutless bunch of shites getting paid to not give a f***

When supporters hit trouble times but scrape every penny to get a train & ticket to watch that crap yet they get 60 to 120k for that performance!!!!

I can't see him surviving.

The 3 centre back formation isn't working anymore. We either don't have the right centre backs to play that system or he doesn't know how to organise them properly.

Either way, it has to change.

I have little confidence in him organising it properly, so its whether he changes formation. Managers seem to stick to their trusted system so I doubt that we happen either.

So, I think he will be gone soon.

All depends if Palace have thinking about possible replacements.

But heaven help us if it's Dyche, he is firmly in the relic category now.

Like to think he knows his onions, if not he may well be stuffed. SP might well already be talking to the international manager Paxo from South America. However he might chicken out and we will be right roasted then.

Yep me too.
Arguably our 5 best players in the last year or so, herderson, Munoz, Lacoix , Mateta and Sarr haven’t been available to him, for differing reasons.
Glasner wouldn’t have done any better without them.
A win and a loss in the Europa.
Doing well in the league cup.
Around where we normally are in the league.
I’d give him til Christmas, unless the form nosedives dramatically.
And yes I know we was fairly lucky in a couple of games, but we’ve been unlucky in 3.
Glasner isn’t doing any better without them lol

Way, way too soon to pull the trigger. Sage has been dealt a stinker of a hand, with all the changes he's had to deal with, losing his top players, then losing his captain etc.

He may turn this around. He may not. But he sure as hell deserves more then seven games to try. We're 14th for crying out loud, not even close to the drop zone.

I agree the body language today wasn't great. But we just lost 5-0...it's hardly going to be positive, is it?

He gets 'til Christmas...then we reassess.

ok I think what you are saying is that SP should not look to recruit a manager from the French League because of Rosenior (Chelsea are a hire and fire club) and Sage after 10 games?

I'm saying what proves successful in Ligue 1 cannot be so easily replicated in the Prem. Or Championship for that matter if you want to also look at Will Still as an example.

It's only 7 games in and we're 14th with 7 points. Played some nice football, especially attacking, and still got Sarr to come back in.
If he can sort the defence out we'd be a solid team.
Give him more time I say, if no improvement by Christmas then thats the time to think about a replacement.

Not the right man for the job.
Which one ? There were 11 on the pitch today not 1 of them right for the job

At times players will
Call it on the pitch meaning they instinctively know a pattern of play is not working - so they talk , discuss about Changing it up

But no they got in each others way, fumbled simple passes, etc etc etc

So many not right for the job lately

I think the biggest issue is what or who is out there.

We defended really well against Leeds and that should have been the stepping stone. But it’s got worse not better.

Rather than changing the manager is it not worth thinking about getting a defence coach in now. Or ask uncle Roy to come in and help out. I am not saying I want us playing RoyBall but we can’t go on giving games away like today.

I always thought that when the chips are down you fix the defence first at all costs. We will all moan if it’s boring but its got to be better than getting bashed up the arse 5-0

Being 2pts above the relegation zone to me isn't 'not even close'!

Personally I'd give him the Besiktas and Newcastle games. If we still look shocking in defence after those two then he's gone. He's been dealt a bad hand, but like it or not you've got to play the hand you're dealt! To me the players already look like they're questioning the tactics and fair enough because at times it comes across as footballing suicide.

He’s not playing the hand he was dealt.
2 of his cards have been taken away and 2 of them have refused to be turned over.
(Not the best analogy I know 😆)

In his post match Press Conference he said he didn't think he had the time to turn things around.
To be fair he’s right. On the other hand maybe he shouldn’t have messed it up so badly it needed turning around in the first place.

We don’t have any decent wing backs either. It’s a redundant system.

Let's just hope he has an Ace up his sleeve and suddenly figures out that when the defence is the weakest part of the team (although JSL giving them a run for their money) don't play tactics which leaves them insanely exposed in every game.

Leeds game showed it was possible, but for some reason we've gone backwards again.

The thing is I can't see Sage adapting his tactics. I presume he told Parish in interview that this is how he sets up. I've yet to see, apart from the Leeds game, any sign to suggest that he has learnt something from the goals being conceded on a regular basis, why they are occurring, and how to stop them. 3-4-3 seems to be written in stone for him, despite the fact that it is the cause of all our problems.
4-3-3 would suit the players better imho, adding a player to the midfield where the game is won and lost. The ease with which Brighton sliced through his formation is a lesson that Sage should learn from.
Another 2 or three games and if there's no change or compromise then say ta ta.

I’m not sure that any of our center backs are good enough to play in a 2.

Or even just drop the wing backs 15 yards deeper. Let the back three play between the width of the penalty box, drop Kamada back to make a midfield three and get the whole team to stop pushing so far up. I am at a loss as to why he isn’t changing it because it so clearly isn’t working.

Leads me to think he can’t communicate his instructions clearly to his players or he has lost them. Either way it’s difficult to see how he can avoid the sack. This is even more chaotic than the Pardew days.
