To all those unhappy with these juries - scrap them and leave it to professional judges with over 20 years trial experience as a barrister- I would love it because the conviction rate would go through the roof.

I'm going to crack a joke and say I'm not so sure I'm against womanisers with a birth rate of 1.4.
Rapists obviously need jail as it's one of the worst crimes, though hard to prove (well should be considering how much we should punish it). I've noted a change in what is considered provable for rape and I'm certain that comes with a much higher conviction of innocent men.
I agree with you on Brand's behaviour Badger but I feel I need to speak out for a level of social tolerance here....Criticism definitely...but prison?. Brand in his youth was a creature of wild excess working in an industry of excess, where the vast near total majority never suffer any comeback at all.
The left defintely loved Brand, I remember him on Question Time attacking Farage and they loved it. He was their darling and they all knew about his womenising because they constantly talked about it. It wasn't a secret.
But he became a critic of the establishment with a very large following once he started social media. He mainly attacked corruption and authoritarianism.
Brand isn't a fan of my politics despite some low IQ commentary that would suggest otherwise. But he's an extremely popular (by followers) social commentator and he has been singled out by an establishment that is increasingly intolerant for what it considers attacks on it by any popular non elite.

The fact I didn't like Brand's TV persona, or find him remotely funny, doesn't make him guilty. I do get some kind of twisted pleasure from the verdict, though 🙂
As for compo, I'm wondering if Brand transferred everything into his wife's name to avoid getting his cash taken.
I am hoping, if that is the case, she get's a restraining order on him and doesn't allow him anywhere near her (or their kids) again. He'd come out of prison with no money and no chance of employment, and no house.
Maybe he could lodge with his great friend Jonathon Ross ?
