when he started to say some political stuff, the knives came out for him.
You should google the Conor McGregor Rape case. Especially the CCTV footage from the hotel lobby that was deemed not permissible as evidence - and ordered to be deleted. Whether or not it showed the couple snogging the face off each other....whether or not it was both before AND AFTER the alleged rape ? no comment.
McGregor maintained that the bedroom activity was consensual. As we all know, Its a tricky one to argue or defend. Both of them on Cocaine only served to cloud the matter.

The Prosecution still have to chuck in the "Manuel's daughter broadcast", and comments by (the late) Saun Lock.
Like why most rape cases fail, is lack of substantive (medical) evidence and poor witness testimony.
And I really don't like Russell Brand, but it seems like he doesn't have to worry too much. (character assassination doesn't carry much weight)
