We have come to expect a more dignified approach from the POTUS, but this one plays by different rules.

In Trump, I think we have a man who has been damaged by the endless criticism and abuse he has suffered and now lashes out in a fashion which seems inappropriate for a man in his position. In a way, the world has made Donald Trump and we will have to live with it.

Criticism that is richly deserved. Abuse that is largely imaginary.

Trump has a very thin skin and an enormous ego. Not a good combination for anyone and terrible for a POTUS.

I knew nothing about Rick Reiner before this but the little I have learned since is that he has had a long battle with drug abuse which his family have been working hard with him to overcome. The father even making a film with him on the subject.

Trump’s stupidity has certainly raised the profile of the story but the murder of someone like Rob Reiner by his son would always be headlines.
