Riad & Doucoure

Larsen
Eze Olise Sarr
Wharton Doucoure
Mitchell Guéhi Lacroix Muñoz
Henderson

Oh but for the hand of fate…

Invincible
More like oh but for the harsh light of realism........

Eze Guehi and especially Olise were all fat too good for us and I suspect Wharton will be the same.

Tbe stars aligned to have a few in the team at the same time but that doesn't happen very often. We buy we sell and sometimes we re invest a little bit of ye profit.

Has anyone heard any news with regards to Doucouré since his last match for the U21's vs Liverpool ?
That's three matches he's played in now, can we start to see light at the end of the tunnel as with Riad?

He wasn't in the squad for the game against Forest U21s, so maybe he's ready to play which would be tremendous.

I would be more suspicious I'm afraid.

I would not have had him playing for the 1st team this season. So if he has not featured for the u21s again, I fear he has suffered a reaction again.

Since his last appearance for the U21's v L'pool, which was on the 22nd March he has only missed one U21 match, I'm pretty certain there is a limit on how many games an over-age player can play in.

We'll find out tomorrow at OG's presser.

Well, it seems Chieik has become a father to a baby girl, that's why he wasn't in the U21's for Forest. According to OG he is training & should be ready for Sunday.
I'm not sure how wise it is to risk him this season. It's a difficult call, but I'd let him have a full pre season before sending him to the front.

Presumably, it is Glasner's choice whether he plays or not. If he is anything like his best, which is admittedly unlikely, he would be a far superior companion in midfield to Wharton than Kamada or Hughes. He may not start, but whilst we are still in the competition, Glasner will want him available as soon as possible for Conference games. He has only a short-term interest in Palace's success

That might be the problem as far as Doucoure is concerned.

It's easy to forget he was arguably our most important player prior to his injury troubles, with rumours of Liverpool sniffing around and talk of £70 million. It would be an amazing turnaround if he could stay fit and find that form. Peak Doucoure and Wharton would be one of the best defensive midfield pairings in the PL.

Doucoure has had a set back, as has Nketiah!

Doucoure has been out for how long?!!!

He only played 13 games for us, having been out for 187 days with an Achilles tendon rupture, before he suffered a torn meniscus and has since missed another 402 days! Now after a bit of ‘light training’ he’s suffered a set back.

I can see another Connor Wickham / Nathan Ferguson scenario panning out 😕

Nothing unusual with niggling injuries while trying to get back to a fitness level that will stop them happening , as for Nketiah think that could be reoccurring injury
