Reform

Fair enough - I can quite understand. I'm not actually going to fall out over it or anything. Apologies for any harsh words. No, I didn't refer to you, but yes, that would be extrapolating. So you've got me there. 😉
Cheers, Mr. Too right: no sense in falling out.

I'm surprised I'm able to do owt; all I can think about is Wembley.

Richard tice said that the new councils will do a doge. Asking why ergonomic chairs are purchased at a silly cost amongst other expensive stuff. Said luxuries may go but generally wants VFM for the public.
Seems a good starting point.

I’m just buzzing for these new councillors to get stuck in to the new day job and see exactly what they’ve signed up for. Give it 3 months before most of them have lost interest.

I tend to agree about Reform not actually offering much concrete evidence that they'll be incredibly different. Or completely competent at all. But, the point is more that people are seeing it as the only real possible alternative to more either snout scoffing or pontificating. Although they might just do the same.
It's kind of: who knows? There aren't many other realistic options.
I tend to think, unfortunately for yourself, Tories won't be making any comebacks but it's not totally impossible yet.
I also think Labour are alienating a lot of support. Including the working class, workers - definitely pensioners and retiring women; but also minorities who feel like they could get more on their own.
We have recently launched a 'Policy Renewal Programme' with members involved, including of course 'Yours Truly' !
The electorate are not ready to listen to us yet, we have to re-build trust and this will take time.
Whether Kemi Badenoch is the person to revive our fortunes is open to debate.

Looking forward to them getting a closer inspection and releasing they’ve been cut to the bone as it is.

And by the way, every office I’ve ever worked in has ergonomic chairs. Does that mean the private sector is wildly inefficient too?

Willo, with all due respect, if people like you and your unnecessary Victorian dialect are the ‘future’ of this country then every single one of us are doomed.

You’ve had your time, son.

If you read it danh I said ‘at silly cost’
Not everything has to be high spec high price. That was my point. Why shop at harrods ( not today 🤔) when cheaper shops are available. Watch reform open the book on the wastage then you can come on and try to explain it away. That’s all I was saying . I know a lot of this will be to spend a budget due to how it works but ironically that needs reform.
See what I did there 😆

Three months? They'll still be charging their cattle prods, unpacking their whips and receiving consignments of jackboot polish.

It’s all nonsense though. And if ‘ergonomic chairs’ is really the best thing they can hold up as an example of wastage they have a serious awakening coming.

Haha this. Will also be funny when some of them realise how little ‘power’ they actually have in a local council and some of the things they have to involve themselves in.

Anyone on the left who still thinks Reform are a protest movement or just going to go away needs to get their head in the real world - of course there is context that these are only local elections, but there is a very clear trend evidenced by all sorts of polling. This is just the latest proof.

The level of apathy most people currently have with our political system, and consequently the two established parties, is enormous - that apathy has to lead them somewhere, and at the moment the left are offering no alternative at all. Reform are.

They poll well amongst youngsters who see that their personal prospects are shite, and never mind not offering an alternative, much of the left won't even acknowledge that is the case.

The centrists and Labour right who have taken complete control of the party are barrelling us towards a Reform government, and unless Labour have a major, major change in approach, that is undoubtedly where we will end up.
Totally agree with this view, there is no real difference with either of the big parties. The same thing is occurring in Germany with the AFP, but there the left seem to be trying to ban them for being too right wing, wish causes slight issues in Germany!

I hope that the newly elected Reform regional mayors' first acts will be to abolish regional mayors.

I’m sure he would like to have said about immigrants in free hotels as wastage but you would object to that as well.
From tiny acorns mighty oaks grow!

Is "Balderdash" Victorian ?😀

Apropos the 'Future', I have been fortunate to reach the ripe age of 72 so whilst I am in the 'Dusk' of life, I can call on experience in the ways of the world.

The 'Policy Renewal Programme' is our first step in laying the groundwork for our next General Election manifesto.
