Reform

On their website they state: " At HOPE not hate, our mission is to work tirelessly to expose and oppose far-right extremism." No mention of Islamic extremism and anti-semitism - or are we supposed to believe that they regard Islamic extremism as far right?
Far left extremism mentioned by name? Far right was

I'm a new poster and know even less about you then the other chap, but from reading previous posts it appears you live in a traditional and quiet rural part of the country, populated mostly by indigenous British.

If say for example, 50% of your area suddenly (say over 5 years) became populated by immigrants from Africa, South Asia or the Middle East, do you accept that the area would change?
And if so, do you think it would be for the better, or worse?

Genuine question, asked in good faith.

Don't waste your time. He would never answer this honestly, because fundamentally he is at his core dishonest and quite frankly a raging hypocrite. This is a man who swears he never looked at the crime statistics of the place he was purchasing his current house property in by the way. Quite literally the first thing everyone does before considering buying property. Why? Because people prioritise their and their families safety first and foremost and the obvious they do not like being burgled. He's either a complete liar or it was plainly obvious that the crime statistics in Truro were extremely low that he decided he didn't need to.

Either way he has still made a conscious decision not to live among areas considered diverse. People would have a lot more respect for him if he actually practiced what he preaches. Woefully insulated from the problems people on here complain about but loves to tell people who live in these areas why they should just suck it up and deal with it.

I appreciate you live there but having visited twice in the last year, compared to every other areas of the UK I have visited, it most certainly isn’t diverse.
In 2021, 3.2% of Cornwalls population were of ethnic minorities, presumably more now but who knows? In 2011 it was 1.8% so yes it had increased but not significantly, I presume you have more up to date numbers% Perhaps you have done your own census? What was the % when you moved there?

Corny trying to suggest Cornwall is 'diverse' is like Millwall suddenly claiming to play like Brazil.
He comes out with more lies than Satan on a 'I must improve my lying game' course.

Totally untrue and is only evidence of a bias and prejudice beyond reason.

Take a look at what they do, how and why and judge it on its merits. Not on your own political viewpoint and immediate response to criticism.

They want to heal division, spread tolerance and respect for others. Not just with the far right but with everyone and all communities. They don’t hate the far right as people. They fight their politics because it is based on hatred. Their approach is based on love, not hatred.
We will have to agree to disagree, but my comments are based on reviewing their website, and whatever you say about me, "prejudice beyond reason" is simple nonsense, as anyone who knows me would attest. To give your response a chance, I opened their website again just now. This is what it shows, in order:

Reform in Power

No far left bias there is there ? Two articles on Reform, a right-of-centre political party which has taken a stand against illegal immigration and also excessive / inappropriate immigration, a view shared by the majority of the population, I would guess.

By far the most prevalent and violent hatred in the UK is anti-semitism. Where is that on their agenda ? Oh but of course it's a far left thing, so it'll just get buried somewhere else in their website. Love not hatred ? No, simply far left again trying to stifle debate with insults and insinuation because it is easier that discussing the issues.

Well it kinda is.

Islamic extremism has no connection with genuine far left nutters.

A wish to create a pan national caliphate has as much crossover with socialism through revolution as the Truro Knitting Circle
Probably more. The Truro Knitting Circle knit teddies for Shelterbox, themselves an organisation devoted to assisting people at the time of their greatest distress. Socialist to the core.

Of course it would, but change that rapidly seems unlikely or at least very unusual. How you would respond is a personal choice but the first thing to remember is that nowhere is “your” area. None of us own areas. We merely live in them and should they change in ways we no longer like no one else compels us to stay there.

Whether such a change is better, or worse, is a personal perception. If you have roots in, or connections to, the places of origin of the new arrivals then you might think it’s better. I have connections to another country and should my immediate area become a target area for people from there then I would be quite content, because I continue to have many friends from within that community. It won’t happen, because they prefer to assimilate rather than congregate.

You are making ridiculous sweeping statements that have no basis in reality. I have never looked at crime statistics when moving somewhere, and I have moved many times. I simply don’t choose areas that are likely to suffer such problems. I don’t know anyone else who looks!

That Cornwall isn’t as diverse as many of our inner cities is NOT the reason I moved here. I don’t like cities, for reasons I have stated many times.

What others decide to do is none of my business, but if they get so distressed about things then they always have the option of moving elsewhere. It’s a matter of priorities.

I think that’s completely untrue. However I wanted to double check so I asked AI. This was the response:-

“While antisemitism is a severe and rising form of prejudice in the UK, official data shows it is not "by far the most prevalent" overall hate crime or form of hatred. Racially motivated offenses make up the vast majority of all recorded hate crimes in England and Wales, and anti-Muslim offenses account for a larger total number of religious hate crime”.

Too many people are conflating opposition to the present Israeli government with anti semitism. They are not the same at all. Nor has it anything to do with left leaning politics.

Hope not Hate openly attack the far right and racism. People like Yaxley-Lennon and Reform are legitimate targets to have lights shone onto and into. There’s nothing left wing about it. I am myself on the centre right and have no more time for far left politics than I do for the far right. I just don’t though see any threats from the far left. I do from the far right, so I support Hope not Hate.

When did I suggest it is “diverse”?

All I have said is that in recent months and years it has become noticeably more diverse, which shows no signs of stopping.

Prior to Brexit there were many Eastern Europeans here, working in a variety of roles. Many have stayed, whilst others have returned to their countries of birth. However, their presence went unnoticed unless you had a reason to interact.

Now those jobs are filled by people from Africa and Asia and their presence is obvious.

Same same but different but still same.

Once again making assumptions on people based on their appearance, you have form for this. Racist behaviour.

You have posted before you can identify where people come from by looking at them because "it's obvious ". Of course, despite this nasty, racist observation you had no way of knowing if they were EU or British citizens as by your own admission you did not engage with "them"

This was in a thread that dealt with , amongst other things, foreign workers in the NHS.

You really are full of it aren't you.

Whilst your idiotic ramblings and invented history used to be amusing, now they are tedious. What strange satisfaction do you get from posting on here? Is it just narcissism?

I am cursed with a good memory for recalling what I have read , so much of your nonsense is still filed away somewhere.

Tell us again how you rescued someone from slavery, that's a doozy.

It was particularly funny as it coincided with in GOT Daenerys freeing the slaves in Slaver's Bay, hence your honorary title " Breaker of Chains ".

Tell us agin about your philanthropic property empire ( sic ) and the lives of ex-prisoners you have changed forever by offering a place to stay where others wouldn't.

You are the reincarnation of John Howard as well as William Wilberforce.

We are lucky to have you on this board to educate and guide us.

Thank you
