Reform

This isn’t America.

I don’t agree with involving his family but there’s no need to be so dramatic.

When was the last time a politician was killed by a ‘lefty’ in this country..? Let alone the daughter of a politician.

As a wider point, Farage is bent as anything - the skeletons will keep coming.

UK MPs have been murdered while doing their job like Joanne Cox and David Amess.

It doesn’t take "America" levels for one unhinged person listening to constant Nazi smears to snap.

Family should be off limits regardless of their politics.

I think the Major party's not contesting the Clacton by-election is a major low point in UK politics , Clearly Labour and the Tories don't believe they can win and are running scared , Apart from that they are denying the local electorate their democratic choice as to whom governs them .
Rupert Lowe has lost his bottle and reputation as a serious challenger to Nigel Farage and the Greens despite their claims to represent the working class have run for the hills ...
It's all about Farage. They think that if they can get him, then Reform will fold.
I don't think that would happen anyway. He doesn't even have to be an MP to be the face of Reform.

The establishment wants to maintain the status quo. The main parties are in collusion. They want to keep subjecting us to the punishment this country is suffering.

Seeing how they are behaving is the clearest indication yet that voting Reform is the only way forward to change direction.

Man of the common people Nige got 46.2% of the vote in 2024. The remaining 53.8% of Clacton residents have the opportunity to do something extremely funny here.

I agree family should be off limits but pretending she's now at risk of being murdered is just melodramatic guff.

Probably not. Those who voted for him last time are not the sort to change their minds now (check this site). They will believe his laughable guff about him v Establishment and he may even garner more votes this time.

It would be lovely if all the major parties pulled out and their support ran to Count Bin Face.

And if there was a huge CBF social campaign and the youth actually got up off their atrophied backsides and voted...

I don't think I would ever stop laughing if he lost to a candidate who proposes to "nationalize Adele"!

All fantasy obvs. E.g. can you imagine the young actually going out to vote for anyone?

You cannot be this stupid, can you?

46% is a massive majority. The government got 32% of the vote and look at their majority. The people of Clacton seem to think Farage is fine, despite some of the unthought out arguments on here. It would take a massive swing to vote him out. Which I doubt.
I wonder why they like him? I guess they must all be stupid racists or taken in by his populist lies? I mean, no way might they just prefer him to the others, for instance. How could they? Something must be wrong. Maybe they just don't care about the donations as much as the BBC and the government seem to. The irony being relatively obvious there. I was going to list every case of sleaze and downright corruption this government has had but thought it pointless. It's not like anyone's forgotten - although Starmer seems to think people are that stupid.

Won't happen.

A shame. I would watch live to see Count Bin Face being sworn in. Might let the kids have a day off to watch with me.

A day in, and I'm kinda with the 'other' parties on this, it's a farce of a by-Election and waste of Tax payers coffers. The other parties have the right not to Stand, as they did when David Davis did the same in 2008.

I get what Farage was going for - and makes some kind of sense, but all it is is a gamble so he can play the "I'm backed by the people" card against the standards committee, but he should have known his history and seen that the other parties may not stand. His only other option was to face these Charges without that backing.

I wouldn't be surprised if a law is passed stating that if you resign from office to force a by-election you can't then restand in that election - (edit-) for the same party.

I'm in the Reform camp, but think that even though this sounded like the right shout on paper, it hasn't taken much prodding to show it for what it is.

I would. And I'd be appalled. There may be an extra charge levied to contribute towards the wasted cost of the by-election, but it would be an affront to our constitution to deny the electorate a candidate based on some technical whim.
