Reform

Like I said, when given power the Tories showed who they really were.

There are examples of Tory ministers calling themselves social liberals....these were the people in power and elected from within the party.

And look at what these 'Tories' did in government....censorship and got rid of none of the woke stuff.....added to it if anything.

Being on the 'right' means nothing in the Tory party, you only have to look at who they elect to lead it.
The Tories have a major problem. At the next election they will promise to have listened and changed, the thing is they told me that for the last 40 years. Fool me once......

Reform have never held power and they may turn out to be just like the Tories but at least they deserve the opportunity. Why on earth would anyone believe Labour or the Tories, liars.

Johnson had the ease of personality, the charisma, the ability to engage and cut through and the lightness of touch which matters for a politician. He discovered that during challenging times, trying to manage the pandemic, being lovable and charming will only get one so far when you are actually in a Government 'Hot seat'.
Reform have NO government experience in their ranks and they accept this is their biggest weakness.
Nadine Dorries is a big supporter of Boris Johnson, she worked with him closely.
A lot of your Boris appraisal is very true,A great cheerleader, fund raiser and morale booster for the Tories but he wouldn't know the truth if it bit him in the over large posterior eventually descending into a comical buffoon but eventually the voters became fed up with his knock about routine as did the Tory elitists.

They are the Tories, well, at least the right wing loony fringe.

It was the will of the parliamentary Conservative Party that there should be a new leader of the party and therefore a new PM.
As he stated "When the herd moves, the herd moves".

Conservatives know we have to work exceedingly hard to regain the electorate's trust and at this juncture nobody is listening but there are years to go before the General Election.
However we have the government experience to recognise why mistakes were made.
Conservatives have knowledge as to how the engines of power work, the pitfalls and the issues. Reform have NO idea, they are on a very steep learning curve.

They may have no idea, but when the two major parties try and fail to deliver what the public actually want, then Reform are the only answer. They may fail by the end of their term but they should have the opportunity to try, particularly as they are upfront about what they want to do (which appears to be the opposite of what Labour want to do).

Some while back they spouted about no taxes for those earning less than 20K. All gone very 'Mute' on this subject !
Their energy policy disintegrated the day after it was announced.
Farage's pledge to stop the boats within 2 weeks of taking office has been altered to within 2 weeks of legislation which is a different proposition.
Expelling 10,000 foreign prisoners and using the army to build new prisons remains uncosted and the practicalities are unclear.
All attention-seeking 'Pie-in-the-sky' flitting from headline to headline.
Vote Reform at your peril.

The herd that matters is moving to the right all over Europe.

The establishment might try to hold back the tide, but they will ultimately fail.

More and more people will see the real world impact of the invasion of Europe and they will reject it.

The Tories are currently seen as part of the problem.

In the last leadership election, the two candidates put to the membership were both on the 'Right' of the party. Cleverly and Tugenhadt were eliminated.
I re-iterate that I voted for Jenrick.

Jenrick, like Braverman, Liz Truss (if she's still with the party) seem to be one of the few right wingers in the Tories......though there are doubts about Jenrick because how he is now....is nothing much like what he was in government.

Exactly how I feel about it mate.

I think most of the right wing do.....watched them no nothing with those 80 seats.....did an impression of a Blair party and agreed with Labour on all the woke stuff.....In love with Blair most of them, it was nauseating to listen to some of it.

Betrayal from your own is far far worse than being ruled by Corbyn.....At least Corbyn doesn't lie to his own people.

The Tories are faking change in my opinion, as evidenced by not having got rid of any of the social liberals pretending to be conservatives. If they were honest about being conservative they would have.....but careers matter more than principle to them.

They're all bent & on the payroll Tories, Reform, Greens, Labour. We need a clear out & major upheaval. We need our own Trump a politician who isn't a politician someone like Douglas Murray

Doesn't Murray want to represent Israel more than Britain these days?

Other than that I'd agree with you.

They make the right noises now, but where were they when the Tories were in government?

They are outnumbered by liberals in their party, and nothing would change were the Tories to get back in power.
I agree that anyone who wants to be in the next government and move this country away from the suicidal trajectory it is currently on should jump ship and join Farage.
Reform needs some experienced heads and those genuinely committed to change.

The Tories can become the centre of politics and offer a future alternative to Reform. The old fashioned left is dead and the new woke loony left needs to be extinguished as a political force.

They won’t do any of those things. They know it but so do most of the voters. It’s just green grass on a hook. It’s nothing very different to Trump tactics in the USA. It’s populism.

There is though a very big problem. When the state of the country is so dire that neither of the traditional parties can enact the requirement solutions without committing suicide anyone who proposes a new approach will be attractive. They can’t be any worse or they deserve a chance reasoning is very powerful and in our situation very dangerous.

Democracy is failing to deliver the solutions we need because people won’t vote for them just as turkeys wouldn’t vote for Christmas.

The responsible way forward after the next election would be for a grand coalition formed by everyone of goodwill and drawn from all the parties, except Reform, who would be the opposition. Then taking very tough economic policy decisions in order to return the country to stability. It would hurt, but also inspire. It also won’t happen.

Wasn't there a problem with the gradient up Anerley Hill which sort of put a spanner in the works?

Whatever Kemi Badenoch's shortcomings I do not view her as a political 'Quack', attempting to sell a cure if she doesn't have one.

She doesn't come up with much in the way of policy, she does have the stamp of learning on the job,Missing the mark at PMQs on a Wednesday regularly.I guess the Tories will put her in the bin very soon and have Jenerick, tho' Jeremy Hunt would be formidable.
