I was old Labour - no way do I support this lot. Blind loyalty is not worth it. Start thinking about what's genuinely better for the country. If you think that is Labour then that's fair enough. I would suggest everything currently is a sticking plaster whilst people's standards of living are in steep decline. Maybe you're doing better? Labour do look after certain people. Train drivers, some civil servants etc. I don't blame anyone for looking after their own.

Yes, I take the point about Farage but feel that he was a public-school, euro-sceptic, hang-em flog-em Tory who became politically homeless around about the time John Major signed the Maastricht Treaty in 1992.

The golden period of personal nirvana for old Nige F was 1986 in the City of London when the Big Bang of Maggie and Nigel Lawson swept in with unprecedented deregulation and his Metals trading firm suddenly found itself absolutely rolling in bathfuls of lucre and allowed to do largely what it wanted. Thus he's a kind of sloaney/yuppie type to my mind who made hay for half a decade in the late 80's and then was incandescent when Major and the mandarins of Brussels spoiled his party with regulation and fiscal coordination.

He's a trader, a confidence man hoping to pull a greenhorn's pants down and clean up on the deal afterwards. He's certainly very persuasive and very keen to appear unflappable. Frankly, he's Mr Brexit and can't be ignored. However, I think even he understands he has hung around much too long, has been found out and now with ongoing official investigations of the £5 million he took personally and recent unlawful donations the party are clearly taking, will consider how far he wants to travel. Perhaps he sees himself as Kingmaker as Tice shapes up for a pop at leader.

He never convinced me but I do acknowledge his powers as a Pied Piper.
