Sorry, but I still don't understand the point you are trying to make.I was principally referring to our blip Dec 25 - Jan 26.

The club keep interest in players quiet generally, so it may seem nothing is happening, but they will be working hard to get deals done. Unfortunately we are down the pecking order of players desired location, so need to wait and see who the big clubs aren't going for first. Thanks for your detailed considered reply.
Football is about opinions and I don’t agree with much you have said.
IMO we don’t currently have a strong enough squad to start the season and we need to recruit quickly in/for the positions I mentioned.

Yes, I would have thought that with the new season starting this month Sage would have his first team pencilled in and training together in semi competitive games (the Como Cup being the ideal pre season training exercise). Excuses about the the first teamers having just come back from the WC are risible. Aww boo hoo poor professional athletes having to work for a living. This is not directed at you Doombear as for me you are one of the most reasoned contributers on this forum.
Realisticaly we have 2 weeks (last week is light training) to get the first team ready for the start of the season, we have yet to see our first eleven play. We have sold our defence over the last two seasons which for me has been the major factor in our recent success. It's unacceptable for a multimillion pound business to not have found suitable replacements and be ready in time, instead thinking (hoping) that 5 games in all will start to click, it's amaturish at best. Lets ne honest we struggled in the second half of the season once Marc left and I thought we had sold one too many and had fatally weakened our defence and now we don't even have Maxence or a recognised replacement. At the moment there are way too many unknowns regarding players and management, the players should all be ready to play as this is a critical moment for the club. I am usually pretty cool about this but there's been way too many changes and yes we are faffing about as usual as even if we get players in, there's no time to build a cohesive team.

Franca has only been back with the club for 4 weeks, it was 2 years ago he had the No11 shirt.17 extra games last season.
Anyone willing to speculate why both Brennan & Mateus have given up their hold on the number 11 shirt?

It has been posted on BBS repeatedly (by a couple of persistent posters i accept) that we have up to £125m to spend on players this window.I suppose for any of us to try and identify realistic transfer targets, we'd need to have some idea of the budget.
It has seemed for a long time that we basically depend on player sales to raise funds for incoming transfers. All other income seems to go on wages. There is of course a bit of wriggle room to spend ahead of yourself here and there, but it all needs paying back (see Newcastle).
It feels as if we spent the Eze and Guehi money on Johnson and Larsen.
Is it realistic to presume the sale of Lacroix has provided the whole transfer budget for this summer?

What are the sums behind that figure?!It has been posted on BBS repeatedly (by a couple of persistent posters i accept) that we have up to £125m to spend on players this window.
I will believe it when i see it.

A couple of crayons and guess a number between 1 and 1000.What are the sums behind that figure?!

We clearly don't. That would only be if Wharton is leaving. It has been posted on BBS repeatedly (by a couple of persistent posters i accept) that we have up to £125m to spend on players this window.

The psychological weight of following in the footsteps of Wilf?17 extra games last season.

He got injured putting it on, so he changed number.Franca has only been back with the club for 4 weeks, it was 2 years ago he had the No11 shirt.

Our WC players were involved in a gruelling season last year and didn't have any break between last July and the World Cup and you want them to come hot foot into pre-season without any time off. They're not machines. Their training pushes them to their physical limits and if they're not allowed a break they'll simply break down as is happening both in football and in other sports. Look how many tennis players are injured because of the greedy money people adding to the calendar all the time. It's happening in football with the extended European competitions etc.Yes, I would have thought that with the new season starting this month Sage would have his first team pencilled in and training together in semi competitive games (the Como Cup being the ideal pre season training exercise). Once again we are limited by UEFA's Squad Cost Ratio of 70% (as opposed to the PL's 85%). We will have limited resources IMO.It has been posted on BBS repeatedly (by a couple of persistent posters i accept) that we have up to £125m to spend on players this window.

Yep, that terrible formation that won us 3 cups in 2 seasons.FFS, the question is the formation, dont complicate it, we seem to have become world leader's at making things difficult.

7 million euros I thinkOur income will have increased this year from a number of sources. We had more games on Sky and Amazon than most recent seasons (err and BBC but let’s forget about that one). Add to that TNT showed our ECL matches. In all 51 of our 60 matches were televised although proceeds per match were probably a little less for the non-Sky matches.
We received over £20m for winning the ECL and as I understand it, keep all the income from our eight home games. I would expect our marketing department gained from increased shop sales, sponsorships and publicity. FIFA will pay us a standard daily rate for our players attendance at the World Cup so even Goodman was earning his keep. These are all smallish amounts but they all add up. With the new shirt sponsorship and Europa League game, possibly against some of Europe’s biggest teams like Juventus, Milan, Benfica, the cash will keep coming in to strengthen the squad.
