For me it's a 9/10

Yes one could argue we need a CM but just look at the quality already in and there's still time to add.
Keeping Wharton, Sarr and Kamada is a bonus 😀

Tomiyasu
Disasi
Mingueza
khalaili
Gozo
McNeil
Guessand

Yes we did lose Lacroix who was a good leader with pace but let's face it he wasn't the best defender at times, Chelsea will find out.

Difficult to make a proper assessment until they actually make a few appearances in a Palace shirt ( other than Guessand who we had on loan).
I had never heard of Mingueza, Khalaili and Gozo until a few weeks ago and have no idea what they can offer aside from.a few video clips.

Been several windows since it’s been anywhere as good as this - it’s 8/10 for me. OG must be confused!

And the window isn’t yet closed. Even though I’m expecting JPM to still leave, a decent CM in preparation for Wharton’s eventual departure would make it 10/10.

Obviously the real assessment takes place over the coming season.

6/10 for me rising to 7/10 if we confirm Disasi. Some interesting signings and so far only one big outgoing. Resigned Kamada which was important. However we go into the season with a weaker defence and without having strengthened midfield. Both were obvious areas to address and we’ve only partially done it.

LaCroix? Really? I think we’re the ones who are going to find out without him!!

Hopefully though if we get Disasi the nickname ‘Disaster’ isn’t justified 🤣

Disasi is reported to be having medical today for a loan deal. Also reported we've knocked back City over any approach for Wharton but the situation with Sarr is concerning if it's true we've named a price - we might have some money available but not long to replace him if he does go.

Defence definitely a problem having lost Lacroix and with just Wharton and Kamada without adequate back up in midfield worries me. Hughes still okay to bring on hopefully? New signings great but so unknown as to how good they will be. And it may be late into the season before we know? Plus of course a new manager who has now realised we aren’t up to playing how he wants us to and it’s taken to the last thrashing in a friendly for him to say he will revert back to the Glasner way of playing. We are so not ready yet :-(

4.5/10

Losing Lacroix is a big loss who hasn't been adequately replaced.
I would like to have signed Wilf and Hayden Hackney, but both chances were missed.

Brennan Johnson wasn't great financially. I think now was the time to cash in on Mateta, but it's gone very quiet on that front.

I know the question was rate the window 'so far', but the fact that Munoz and Sarr exits are being seriously discussed is also a worry.

I know it's not the guys fault, but signing an Israeli might prove a costly decision for our emerging 'global brand'.

With all new signings, it's a case of wait and see how they do on the pitch.

Lacroix is an excellent defender. What he isn’t is an organiser and leader at the back. We lacked that once Guehi left and don’t look to have addressed it.

We’ve lost two of the best defenders in the league the last two windows, I’m thinking Hendo is going to be busy the first few games of the season whoever plays at the back……or Benitez if hendo is out

Can't judge a transfer window, until at the least the winter window and may be next year. After all Liverpool fans convinced they's 'won the transfer window' after last summer. Just spent lots of money on players who didn't work out that well.

First thoughts are that we seem to have increased the depth of the squad, but the first team (especially defence) looks a lot weaker than it did this time last year.

I think this season could go either way. I'm less certain of us staying up than I have been for a number of years, especially if Mateta, Munoz or Sarr go, but if most of the new players gel, then it could be another good season.

Scratchy bum on that fence Fishy? 🙂

Losing Lacroix, Eze, Guehi and possibly Munoz does seem to make us weaker than this time last year. However, I have no idea how good the players we have bought in will perform.

What I like is that the newbies are from diverse sources and largely unknown outside the EPL. When we buy marquee signings everyone knows, get excited about and cost a ton, they always let us down.

And we have more or less broken even so operating sustainably.

Possibly a good job performed by Hobbs et al???

One certainty. Because we have not spent a fortune and because the signings are largely little known, the media will rank us poorly in their top 20 transfer success. Those "expert" opinions are always rubbish. The same people who predict Arsenal to win, the 3 promoted teams to go down, and the 3 relegated teams to come straight back up.

Not seen so many pundits choose us to go down for many seasons. All four at the 'i' have us for the drop, But, there has only been one team in Premier League history who has had a longer consecutive sequence in the division and gone down

So what do you rate the transfer window?

Not a window to get to excited about yet. It’s good that we are at last filling the squad out for a European campaign, but there is no individual that is better than our best eleven as of yet. This could change , if it happens then it becomes a good window. Losing Lacroix , on top of Guehi, last Christmas makes it harder to make it a really good window.

Yes certainly getting splinters on the backside!

It's a strange start to the season, because all of a sudden their are lots of incomings and the board hasn't done their usual last day shopping to get some in. Like you, I have no idea how good most of the incoming players are. I just don't have any interest in football outside of Britain.

I think a lot of those predicting us to go down are because of the unknown quantaties of the incomings, european football and the fact we've lost our manager. However, Brighton, Bournemouth and Sunderland also venture into European football with less recent experience than use yet everyone seems to tip them having mid table seasons.

No idea, how this season will pan out, but it would be great if we could nick a top 8 spot.
