Notice the other woman at the beginning who does not have her head covered.
I wonder what plenty of the new middle class Labour voters will think about this lol.First she came for your income, then your estate (IHT) next she's after your pension. Now she's after your home.

Fears new Labour property tax will hit the hardest workers
Labour vowed before the last election that it would 'not increase taxes on working people', ruling out rises in National Insurance, income tax or VAT.www.dailymail.co.uk
I live in a flat in Beckenham it is worth circa 500,000 I bought it 35 years ago. Apparently I am rich according to Rachel from Accounts. Most people who own property in the South East will find their home is around 500,000.
This is not targetting the rich but the average person.

I'm actually thinking of my neighbour retired like me. She is a very left wing teacher. With all the changes to IHT due to come in in 2027 plus further changes that are being mooted including taxing the beneficiary of an estate you could have this happen.I wonder what plenty of the new middle class Labour voters will think about this lol.
I don't think women are allowed ina mosque without it. I do remember Therea May doing exactly the same, not really much of a story, newsflash the sky is blue!
The answer to her problem is that the son moves in now and is joint owner,no taxes to pay.I'm actually thinking of my neighbour retired like me. She is a very left wing teacher. Her son is also a teacher but cannot afford his own home so she is intending to leave her home to him worth about 500k.
Bite 1
The Estate (son) would have to pay IHT on her estate above 350k possibly around 75k in tax. He cannot afford that so would be forced to sell her home to pay it.
Bite 2
Selling her home incurs incurs property tax (potentially new) or stamp duty on the sale of the home.
Bite 3
The money he receives from her estate is no longer tax free and is treated as income. As this is likely to be around 400k ish that puts him in the high income bracket.
In short the Tax man gets 3 bites at the same apple I haven't done the numbers but this could be hundreds of thousands in taxes when added up.
So my friend hates to acknowledge that Labour ever do anything wrong but already I can see the inner struggle in her, why are they caning teachers and the like. This is not the super rich.
Interesting, do you know that for certain? Does he have to put his name on the mortgage deeds? The answer to her problem is that the son moves in now and is joint owner,no taxes to pay.
Well ,yes a solicitor would be required. Inform the Land Registry etc. Always a way out.She is retired with a mortgage? is her ownership a Charge cerificate (mortgage, debt on deeds) or Land certificate (mortgage, debt free)?Interesting, do you know that for certain? Does he have to put his name on the mortgage deeds?
It sounds hopeful of course always assuming she wants him living with her.
I would take some advice before doing anything. Inheritance Tax is a minefield . And I have known examples where the tax had to be paid upfront before selling the property or ownership transferredInteresting, do you know that for certain? Does he have to put his name on the mortgage deeds?

Mortgage free. However I think the 7 year rule must apply I was also told she she would have to vacate the property whilst alive.Well ,yes a solicitor would be required. I doubt that, but the rules keep changing.Mortgage free. However I think the 7 year rule must apply I was also told she she would have to vacate the property whilst alive.
As others has said she would need expert advice.
Which halves after 5 years.Mortgage free. However I think the 7 year rule must apply I was also told she she would have to vacate the property whilst alive.
