Lineker is being ditched at the end of the season so maybe MOTD will have a reset as they say in politics. I suspect they had Jenas lined up to take over until he blotted his copybook.
Bring back Des Lynam. 77 is no age these days.Lineker is being ditched at the end of the season so maybe MOTD will have a reset as they say in politics. I suspect they had Jenas lined up to take over until he blotted his copybook.
The BBC never used to have any qualms about age. Ted Lowe, Peter O'Sullevan, Dan Maskell, Richie Benaud and a few others went on for ever. In Richie's case I wish he was still there.Bring back Des Lynam. 77 is no age these days
Maybe not, but he is 82.Bring back Des Lynam. 77 is no age these days.
May not be the best solution if you want to hear praise for the Palace - he's a Brighton fan!Bring back Des Lynam. 77 is no age these days.
My favourite was John Arlott. The BBC never used to have any qualms about age. Ted Lowe, Peter O'Sullevan, Dan Maskell, Richie Benaud and a few others went on for ever. In Richie's case I wish he was still there.
Couldn't remember when he died so looked him up and it was in 2001!Brian Moore was the voice of football in my youth, they don’t make ‘em like they used too, I shed a genuine tear when I heard he’d passed away
Couldn't remember when he died so looked him up and it was in 2001!
He went to Cranbrook school in Kent the same as Peter West and Barry Davies - they must've had commentary lessons ,there.
Pfft, you've missed out the best of all . . . David Coleman.Wow was it that long ago?😳
A lot of todays current breed could do with some of that, none of them are in the same class as Brian Moore, Barry Davies and Motty
Maybe not, but he is 82.
I saw this on X regarding Lineker’s new job. I assume it’s a wind upOK but he'd still be better than Lineker.
