Got back home at 1:30am last night.
What a bloody tremendous trip. Must have been 5,000 Palace there, excellent atmosphere in the old town both before and after the game. Not a hint of trouble.
The locals seemed to warm to the Palace fans and I had several offers from Wisla Krakov and Cracovia fans who were keen to swap their merch in exchange for some Palace gear (including the passport control officer!)
Enjoyed a few drinks with Shaktar fans who were keen to mingle and have a good time with us. They have a nice story now that since the war, all Ukrainian fans have turned from having rivalries to supporting each other. There was good support for Shaktar in the stadium, who I suspect were mostly neutral Ukrainians.
After hearing about the nonsense in Strasbourg I was fearing a repeat. There was nothing but positivity all round. Makes you proud to be Palace.
The stupid policing and treatment of the Palace away section after the match threatened to put a dampener on the occasion. An hour lock in before letting fans through in single file through a tight line of riot police with shields. Everyone was patient and just chatting amongst themselves and about 50 riot police ran over. Totally bizarre and unnecessary. Hope the club out a complaint in.

Wow that's crazy! They were threatening to throw people in jail drinking in public if you didn't have 100zl cash! I asked the fed if there's any reason they don't have a card reader for fines and he just said no. Was completely chill leaving the game from the home end even with palace songs sung throughout. Shocking to hear the treatment of English fans still haven't changed over all these years.
