Predictions for the second signing?

A left sided wing-back who can cross a ball and beat players on the outside and I’ll be a happy man. Hopefully they are working on someone quietly to stop the likes of West Ham or Everton coming in and hijacking it.

Chilwell is always crocked. Why have him on loan on a huge salary when all you get out of him is “aaah me thigh ,,,aaah it’s me knee this time gaffer”

Let Everton have him.
Yep. I'm thinking if we can't get Diouf, we should go for Doughty, Davis, someone like that. Not good enough to start but enough to create some cover for Mitchell (who still deserves to start), and also a bit more attacking than Tyrick so we have more options.

Because Mitchell has been outstanding for us this year and doesn't deserve to have his spot taken from him, but we still need cover if he gets injured
Glasner's system requires wingbacks to be two of your best players to succeed. Mitchell isn't that: although I have to say I felt sorry for him today that after repeatedly hitting defenders with crosses he found Eze 12 yards out and Ebs completely mis-controlled it

If there not good enough to start, why would we sign them?
I think like Esse we can sign players that will develop. Add to that we need depth and competition so they can bring something different to what we have to give options . Mitchell needs a rest, he has been amazingly reliable for us but it must take its toll. We might see a better player if he gets some rest time to time

If we sign a young LWB who can develop and become a first team player that is one thing. What we can’t do is sign back ups for lots of money. Clyne is the current back up. Of course that is not ideal but any player coming in has to be significantly better than him or there isn’t much point.

Agreed but I don’t think our transfer policy these days is to sign players just to sit in the bench. We have been signing hungry players that we can develop and gain value from. Esse is one of those that will support and push the starting 11. Diouf could be another one that adds great competition. Exciting 2nd half of the season ahead
