Since the Two Brewers is closed (hopefully temporarily) my watering hole is no more!:drunk:

Where do you lot go? I want somewhere that isn't too jammed, with real ale and not too far away from the ground so my pal with a dodgy knee can walk there post match.

If the pub is jammed but the barstaff know what they are doing that will work too.

In bygone days, on occasions I used made rare appearances in 'The Ship' in South Norwood before a match.
I recall the Northern 'Mine Host' (Who later resorted to a toupee) bellowing out in close proximity to me "Coom on lards, get going to ground, gates are closing".

I usually go to the Victory Club in Selhurst Road . £3 to get in on production of a home ticket and reduced drinks prices, including real ale.
It can get busy but barstaff are very good and the cheese and onion rolls are a must !

Have you heard of Anspach and Hobday they have a brewery on the Purley Way,mainly keg but they do some lovely cask beers. There is a Tap Room at the brewery.

Not really much to chose from near the ground , the good ones have closed down and those that remain are either a long walk , packed out or rubbish ,some tick all three boxes .

Cherry trees at Norwood junction or the already mentioned Victory club would be my choices but these days Im just as inclined to get in the Glaziers ,the beers crap but after half a dozen it sort of grows on you 🙂

I tend to use the Jolly Sailor - before & afterwards but as a lifetime card carrying lager lout I have absolutely no idea what craft ales they carry -

Can get busy in there though.

The number of pubs closed, since i last went a few years ago , is very surprising. Sign of the times, I suppose. Not enough trade during the week to keep them going between match days.
I suppose you could opt for a 2 litre bottle of White Lightning from Costcutter, and a bench by the Norwood clocktower. 🙁

Pawson’s Arms. Was recommended on HOL sometime ago and I liked it on the few occasions I had been there.

Alas the Fountain Head is long gone, a small estate has been there for at least 25 years. The Lord Napier around the corner is another that's long gone and has been lying empty for again around 25 years as is the Grange (Picture attached) further up the road 🙁
